Each year, about five million people attend one of the numerous fairs around our state. As Florida’s Commissioner of Agriculture and Consumer Services, I’m excited about the positive impact fairs and livestock shows have on the agricultural industry. Events like the Florida State Fair are a great way to bring the finest “Fresh From Florida” products and services to fairgoers like you, while sharing the industry’s latest technological advancements and innovations. As Florida’s agriculture industry looks toward the future, momentum and growth will depend on getting and keeping young Floridians involved. Fairs and livestock shows are a great way to cultivate the next generation of industry leaders by providing opportunities to participate in and celebrate Florida’s rich agricultural heritage. You may notice that the Florida State Fair is a little different this year due to COVID-19. We hope you will enjoy the Fair safely, and do your part to keep yourself and your fellow fairgoers safe by wearing a mask, washing your hands, and keeping your distance – we’re all in this together! Groups like Florida 4-H and Florida FFA empower and allow young people to participate in agriculture, and offer both educational demonstrations and competitions at a number of yearly events. Since the first fair in America was held, agricultural fairs have grown and adapted to serve many purposes. IN THE FLORIDA CENTER Since our start in 1904, creative competitions have been woven into the history of the Florida State Fair. This year, over 3400 adult and youth entries from every corner of the state compete for a blue ribbon prize in quilting, baking, painting, aquariums, horticulture and a variety of crafts. April 26th, artists from all over the state will be around the grounds painting their favorite fair scenes as they compete in the Plein Air Painting Contest.

Welcome to the Imaginative World of LEGO® Bricks Award-winning artists and LEGO® bricks enthusiasts have brought a fun LEGO® bricks event to the Florida State Fair. Makers of all ages have been involved in this build, featuring the “world famous” 30 foot dinosaur- themed working roller coaster made with LEGO® bricks. They hope that this build inspires you to imagine and create your own brick builds at home.

Step back in time at Mildred W. and Doyle E. Carlton, Jr.’s Cracker Country, Tampa’s only living history museum! With 13 original structures Country that date back to theCracker late 1800s and knowledgeable docents in historic dress, walking into Cracker Country feels like a step back in time. Educational groups can schedule tours, and members of the public can enjoy Cracker Country during the annual Florida State Fair or during select special events. Learn about Florida’s rural past in this hands-on, immersive adventure!

Craftsmen’s Marketplace located in the Special Events Center, is the perfect shopping opportunity for all things handcrafted. The east side of the Special Events Center is dedicated to showcasing all things carefully crafted by hand. Shop wood carvings to soaps to candles and everything in between!

Masks are to be worn in all indoor spaces and outdoors when not consuming food and drinks. Entry will be denied without a face mask unless impairment to an existing health condition. All employees and vendors will be required to wear a face mask.
Please wash hands before leaving animal areas - especially before eating and as often as you can. An increased number of hand sanitizer and hand washing stations are available throughout the fairgrounds.
