FLORIDA STATE GOLF ASSOCIATION Dear Florida Golfers, Thank you for supporting the Florida State Golf Association. This is a special year for the FSGA as it embarks on its 100th year of service of this great game of golf. As a member of the FSGA, you are helping us preserve and protect this great game. We must first recognize all of the FSGA Committee Members who make our service to the game possible. There are more than 450 Committee Members across Florida who assist with tournaments and course rating. The FSGA has become one of the premier state golf associations in the country because of these fine men and women. In 2013, the FSGA will conduct more than 470 days of competition including: 39 state championships, 50 USGA qualifying events, 28 Florida Junior Tour events and 150 OneDay tournaments. The Florida Junior Tour (FJT) continues to provide competitive and affordable tournaments for the state’s top junior golfers. In its tenth season, the FJT consists of 28 events for boys and girls ages 13-18. If you have the chance, come out to see these unbelievable junior golfers. We hope you will join the FSGA as a Foundation Member and support the Future of Golf Foundation. The Foundation benefits the state’s juniors with college scholarships and assistance with travel expenses to state and national tournaments. We appreciate your support and dedication to the game of golf. Sincerely,

Jim Applegate FSGA President

Celebrating our Centennial New for 2013

Each year brings changes, and this year is no different. Below is a summary of the changes to the FSGA Men’s events you can expect in our centennial year!

Men’s Championships

• Players must walk at the Mid-Amateur Championship due to Mountain Lake Golf Course not having carts. Carts are required during qualifying rounds. • A $10 late fee is being added to any entries received after the entry deadline. • A dinner is being held at the Senior Amateur the evening before the first round. • The Senior Four-Ball date moved to October 1-2. • The Parent-Child is using the Magnolia, Lake Buena Vista and Osprey Ridge Course. The Palm course will be closed during the championship. • Men’s Net Championship will be played at Grand Cypress Resort, September 28-29.

The FSGA and its members are celebrating our 100th birthday this year. The FSGA was formed in 1913 and has grown to become the largest state or regional golf association in the country. Currently, over 210,000 golfers keep their handicap through the FSGA's GHIN Handicap System and over 800 golf clubs in the state are full member clubs of the association. With over 470 days of competition at some of Florida's top venues, 2013 promises to be one of our best years yet. This year we invite all Florida golfers to join our staff, our members and our member golf clubs in celebrating this centennial year.
