PHARAOH BROWN
A New Chapter of Balance, Family, and Winning in Seattle
Interview & Article by Cat Michelle
As Pharaoh Brown steps into a fresh chapter with the Seattle Seahawks, he's bringing more than just his athletic prowess to the field. Known for his towering presence and incredible versatility as a tight end, Brown has a career filled with defining moments, yet, as he settles into the rhythm of his new team, he’s focused on more than just wins; it's about balance, gratitude, and living authentically.
“Practice has been going well,” Pharaoh shared. “Every day is about focus, getting ready for the season, and staying in the game.” His dedication is clear, yet his grounded perspective allows him to take each day as it comes—an approach shaped by his life off the field. When asked what he was most excited about for this upcoming season, his response was swift, “Winning.”
Of course, winning is at the top of his list of goals with the Seahawks, but it’s clear that his success on the field is deeply connected to the joy and contentment he finds in his personal life.
Pharaoh’s connection to his family is evident not only in his social media posts but also in his approach to life and football. His wife, Celestina Brown, is a central figure in his journey. As the CEO of Files By Less and owner of Casa Kunah Tulum Villa, she’s more than just a supportive spouse—she’s his partner in life, style, and every other adventure.
"My happiness and my family’s happiness translate to how I play the game," Pharaoh emphasized. “I’m super blessed and grateful to be where I am, and I’m excited to build on that mindset going into the season.” Celestina will be by his side throughout the season, and Pharaoh credits her with helping him stay balanced and focused. “You balance it by getting
agreat wife,” he laughed, but behind the humor is a deep appreciation for her role in his life.
With Celestina’s influence, their family’s collective energy has positively impacted Pharaoh’s mental health and performance. It’s clear that their partnership is a cornerstone of his success, offering him strength and stability both on and off the field.
Pharaoh’s fun, comfortable, and exciting style is another extension of his authentic self, though he’s quick to admit that it’s his wife who deserves the credit. “My wife styles our whole family and crushes it.We even get some things custom-made because of my size, and it’s fun to look through fabric options together,” he shared. One of the standout moments for the couple was when they made a splash at the ESPY Awards, Pharaoh debuting his pink hair while both donned coordinated outfits that turned heads.
Although Pharaoh enjoys staples like Alexander McQueen, Rick Owens, New Balance, and more but he maintains that style is about being yourself. “The person makes the clothes. It doesn’t matter what someone else is wearing—just be you,” he advises. This philosophy, combined with his family’s cohesive look, has made them a stylish force both in everyday life and at events.
Pharaoh’s mental resilience is perhaps his most defining trait. His practice of meditation, particularly through the app Headspace, has been a game-changer for him. “I meditate all the time, even on the field,” he said. “For me, meditation is talking to yourself—your thoughts aren’t real until you believe them.” This mindset has carried him through some of his most challenging moments. By channeling positivity, Pharaoh has managed to maintain a high frequency, keeping his mind clear and his performance sharp. “When stuff is happening on the field, I speak positivity into myself. I’m the best, I’m great. I’ve been stuck in a negative mindset before, but now I’m vibing at a higher frequency.” It’s a mental shift that has not only elevated his game but also his outlook on life.
Outside of football, Pharaoh has a deep connection with horses, a unique passion that offers lessons far beyond the stable. “Usually, I’m the biggest guy on the field, but when you’re standing next to a horse, you’re no longer the big guy—the horse is,” he shared. “It’s hard to be vulnerable and give up control, but riding a horse is a great exercise in staying in the moment. If you lose concentration, you lose control, and that’s a metaphor for life.”
This connection to horses has also helped Pharaoh stay disciplined as an athlete, but horsemanship offers lessons that extend far beyond the stable. "You have to have a bond with that animal, be on the same frequency, communicate, and respect it. Ultimately, it will make you love that animal. If everyone practiced that and took it into their daily life, the world might be a better place." His children share this love for horses and can often be found at the barn, feeding and looking after them. It’s a family affair that keeps them grounded and connected to nature.
Pharaoh’s life is a careful balancing act of football, family, and future aspirations. Whether he’s riding bikes with his kids, catching frogs, or spending time at the barn, his love for nature and the outdoors keeps him grounded. His days are filled with multitasking, and his ability to manage it all comes down to organization and, of course, his partnership with Celestina.
But there’s more to come. Pharaoh is working on several projects, including starting his own foundation, pursuing a potential movie role, and managing their newly finished Airbnb in Tulum. He’s also working towards a Master’s in Finance, with plans to return to school once the season wraps up. “I’m excited for what’s next,” he said. “But right now, I’m focused on winning with the Seahawks.”
As Pharaoh Brown embarks on this new chapter with the Seahawks, his journey is one of balance, growth, and an unwavering commitment to both his craft and his family. His approach— rooted in gratitude, mental clarity, and authenticity—promises to be as impactful off the field as it will be on it. And as he sets his sights on the future, both personally and professionally, one thing is certain: Pharaoh Brown is just getting started.
JAKE BOBO
A New Chapter of Balance, Family, and Winning in Seattle
Interview & Article by Cat Michelle
Jake Bobo’s rise from an overlooked tryout hopeful to a fan-favorite wide receiver for the Seattle Seahawks is a testament to more than just talent—it’s a story of grit, humility, and a deep connection to his roots. In the high-stakes world of the NFL, where fame and fortune can often cloud perspective, Jake remains refreshingly grounded. His journey to the pros, shaped by hard work and a strong family foundation, reflects the values he carries both on and off the field.
For Jake, football wasn’t just a passion—it was part of his DNA. His father, Mike Bobo, played at Dartmouth, and from a young age, Jake was captivated by the game. "Like most little boys, I just wanted to be like my dad,” he recalls fondly. He spent countless hours in his childhood basement, watching his father’s old VCR tapes and imagining his own future on the field. From there, his relentless work ethic led him to UCLA and eventually a tryout with the Seahawks. "The most prepared get the most lucky,” Jake says, a mantra that has carried him through his football journey and life. But Jake’s success didn’t happen overnight. It was the culmination of years of dedication, shaped by the values instilled in him by his parents. They emphasized the importance of process over results. “My dad used to say, ‘I’m not worried about the grade; I’m worried about whether
you’re studying hard enough,’” Jake recalls. This mindset, focused on preparation and effort, has become a guiding principle in his life. His approach to the game reflects this too—staying focused on being the best teammate he can be and trusting that the hard work will pay off. One of the lessons Jake applies daily is the concept of consistency. “You don’t need to do it all in one day. Just show up every day, do your work, and trust that it'll come.’”
However, an emotional turning point for Jake and his family happened when his father passed away after a battle with cancer, a loss that has left a lasting impact on him. Jake and his brothers made a heartfelt gesture during their father’s fight, shaving their heads in solidarity. “Dad always had great hair,” Jake remembers with a smile, “but when chemotherapy took it, we figured if he’s losing the flow, we should too.” The act wasn’t just a tribute—it was a reflection of the closeness and loyalty that define the Bobo family. The loss left an undeniable impact on Jake, but rather than seeing it as something that changed him, he views it as an opportunity to honor the lessons his father taught him about humility, hard work, and faith. "It’s about carrying his legacy forward, continuing to live in a way that would make him proud.”
Outside of football, Jake’s hobbies reflect his laid-back personality. He’s a country music fan who enjoys spending time at outdoor concerts, and he’s recently developed a passion for golf, though he admits his game could use some improvement. "Golf gives me a break from the intensity of football,” Jake says, hinting at how the game helps him reset mentally. “I’m not any good, but I love getting out there and trying.” His newfound love for sushi—thanks to his girlfriend— also reflects his willingness to embrace new experiences. “I wasn’t a big sushi guy before, but now I’m hooked,” he says, laughing about how sushi date nights have become a regular occurrence.
Since moving to Seattle, Jake has embraced life in the Pacific Northwest. "There’s nothing like a Seattle summer—clear skies and no humidity,” he says. He’s fallen in love with the city’s natural beauty, but even in the famously rainy months, Jake sees the silver lining. "You kind of have to embrace the rain. There’s something special about that.” His appreciation for Seattle goes beyond the weather—he’s found a sense of home in the city, especially since his girlfriend moved out to join him. “We’ve really enjoyed exploring the city together, and it’s starting to feel like home.”
When it comes to fashion, Jake keeps it simple. His style is understated but thoughtful, a reflection of his New England roots. “Growing up in New England definitely influenced me,” he says. “I’m not flashy, but I like to look put together.” His game-day outfits reflect that mindset— sharp, polished, but never over the top. For Jake, getting
dressed for game day is part of his preparation, a ritual that helps him get into the right mindset to focus on the task ahead.
Despite the newfound fame and financial success that come with an NFL career, Jake remains remarkably humble. "I feel like this always circles back to my dad,” he says, reflecting on the values instilled in him from an early age. “He always reminded us where our talents came from— Christ. I worked hard, but I also had so many people along the way who helped me get here.” This deep sense of gratitude keeps him grounded, even as the spotlight shines brighter.
Looking ahead, Jake is focused on carving out his role within the Seahawks organization, contributing to the team’s success while staying true to his values. “At the end of the day, it’s about team success for me,” he explains. “I want to find the role that will help push this team to a championship.”
Off the field, his goals are more personal: to continue his spiritual journey, be a good son, brother, and boyfriend, and remain a positive influence in the lives of those around him.
LAVISKA SHENAULT JR
In the whirlwind of training camp, Laviska Shenault Jr. found a moment to sit down with us, his energy radiating through every word. Fresh off his signing with the Seattle Seahawks, the dynamic wide receiver is not only gearing up for a thrilling season on the field but also ready to make his mark as a style icon. And for those who’ve followed his journey— from standout performances with the Jaguars to key plays that electrified fans—Laviska’s potential with the Seahawks feels like the perfect next step.
A NEW CHAPTER WITH THE SEAHAWKS, HIS ELECTRIFYING STYLE, & WHAT’S NEXT
For Laviska, the Seahawks represent more than just a team—it’s a fresh start, a new challenge, and a platform to display his talents in a new way.
“I’m ready to win here in Seattle,” he said with conviction. "We have a great team, and I’m getting ready to make the most of every opportunity coming my way. I’m in the room with a lot of fun people, and we’re in the grind together."
This season, however, Laviska is turning up the heat before he even steps foot on the field.
“This year, I’m putting more effort and planning into my gameday looks, get ready!” he said, hinting at a cowboy-inspired outfit that’s still coming together.
“I’ve got to complete the look, but it’s coming.” But Laviska’s love for fashion isn’t just about clothes— it’s about expression, confidence, and making a statement. "I’ve always had style, but I wasn’t always as fortunate as I am now to afford what I wanted,” he shared. “Now, I can buy whatever I like. I don’t think too much about it, and I don’t buy too much designer; I like mixing high and lows.”
While he doesn’t subscribe to a single style icon, Laviska draws inspiration from many sources. "I don’t have one person, but if I see an outfit I like, I make a mental note of how I can make it my own. I do like Offset and Gunna’s style, though."
His love for music is another outlet for his creativity. "I’ve been in the studio working on some tracks," he revealed. While he hasn't dropped anything yet, he’s eager to share it with his teammates to get them hyped before games and to share with his fans in the near future. "I’m excited to drop some music soon," he added with a smile.
But Laviska’s interests don’t stop there. Gaming is his go-to way to unwind after the adrenaline rush of games. “I enjoy gaming during the season post-game to cool down and chill. Lots of NCAA.” Gaming, along with his love of music, plays a vital role in helping him maintain balance during the rigors of an NFL season. “It’s a great way for me to relax and take my mind off everything.”
In addition to music and gaming, Laviska has another project in the works that blends his love for food and conversation. "I’m working on a new show, a mukbang with a twist,” he said. "I’ll be bringing athletes on the show, we’ll eat and chat, and the setting will change depending on who I’m talking to." His first guest was his former teammate, Terrace Marshall Jr. "It was a vibe. I want to talk with athletes who have great energy and share who they are beyond the field."
Looking ahead, Laviska is also reflecting on his personal journey. When asked what advice he’d give his younger self, he paused, then offered this: “Things happen, and you’ve got to understand not to let it affect you the way it will affect others. You may not understand that from my standpoint, but maybe you can find a way to apply it to your life.” His answer speaks volumes about his journey.
As Laviska enters this new chapter with the Seahawks, there’s a clear sense of anticipation—for himself and the fans. His goals for this season? “I want to win. I want to push myself and the team to new heights,” he said. "I’m ready to make an impact, not just on the field but in everything I do."
One thing is clear: Laviska Shenault Jr. is more than just a football player. He’s a fashionforward thinker, a creative soul, and a man on a mission. And as he gears up for his season in Seattle, we’re all here for the ride and the tunnel looks.
The Journey of Y.Chroma with Max Israel
ARTICLE & INTERVIEW BY Wynn Wilder
MAX ISRAEL'S Y.CHROMA REDEFINES MEN'S FASHION WITH BOLD COLORS, PREMIUM CRAFTSMANSHIP, AND SUSTAINABLE PRACTICES, EMPOWERING MEN TO EMBRACE INDIVIDUALITY AND STYLE.
Max Israel’s transition from Seattle to Spain was a pivotal moment in his life, influencing both his personal perspective and professional endeavors in the fashion world. Leaving the comfort of his Seattle roots, Max, along with his family, embarked on a journey to Europe 15 years ago. This bold move was driven by a desire to embrace new experiences and challenges. Reflecting on this decision, Max describes it as one of the smartest and luckiest moves he ever made.
MAX ISRAEL’S JOURNEY FROM SEATTLE TO SPAIN HAS RESHAPED HIS LIFE AND CAREER, INSPIRING THE CREATION OF Y.CHROMA, A BRAND THAT REDEFINES MEN'S FASHION FOR THE MODERN, CONFIDENT MAN. WITH A FOCUS ON VIBRANT COLORS, PREMIUM CRAFTSMANSHIP, AND SUSTAINABLE PRACTICES, Y.CHROMA IS NOT JUST A FASHION BRAND.
“MORE THAN FASHION"
Living in Europe for half of his adult life has significantly shaped Max's approach to fashion. Drawing from Seattle's casual yet sophisticated style, he noticed a striking gap in men's fashion—many men feel uncomfortable in their typical American work attire and yearn for more stylish options. Inspired by the vibrant European fashion scene, Max saw the need for men to have the right clothes and, more importantly, the right role models. He emphasizes that seeing others embrace bold fashion choices can give men the confidence to do the same. “I was chatting with a friend the other day who loves the Amazon series, Mr. and Mrs. Smith. He admired Donald Glover’s wardrobe choices in the series and wished out loud that he could dress like that. I pointed out that there’s absolutely nothing stopping him from dressing that way. It’s not that he’s afraid of being the only one in the office to dress like that, but rather being the first one.”
The Birth of Y.Chroma
Y.Chroma was born out of Max's vision to create a world where men can confidently wear color. The name Y.Chroma is a clever play on words, combining the Y chromosome with "chromatic," representing a spectrum of colors. The brand challenges the notion that men should fade into the background as they age. Instead, it promotes the idea that men can and should express themselves vividly through fashion.
Max's inspiration for Y.Chroma goes beyond fashion. He aims to inspire men to embrace a well-curated wardrobe, transforming the often-overlooked aspects of men's fashion into exciting and aspirational pursuits. Y.Chroma’s mission is to provide men with clothing and inspiration that empower them to live vigorously and embrace their individuality.
VISION FOR THE FUTURE
Looking ahead, Y.Chroma plans to expand its offerings beyond clothing. Max envisions a future where Y.Chroma becomes a hub for men's lifestyle inspiration. This includes not only fashion but also media, educational travel, and masterclass series. The goal is to help men navigate midlife with style, confidence, and a renewed sense of purpose. “People see the brand’s explosive growth and ask me if I want to be the next Ralph Lauren. Ralph is an icon and of course there are a million lessons to learn from him. But if you want to know where I’m really going, look at another icon: Martha Stewart. Martha took the least romantic thing in the world at the time — being a homemaker — and turned it into the most exciting thing. I view my job as being something like that for my generation of men.”
A Unique Approach to Menswear
Y.Chroma stands out in the competitive menswear market by focusing on authenticity and community. The brand addresses the often-overlooked needs of men in their 50s and beyond. Max believes that the biggest competition is not other fashion brands but rather men's reluctance to invest in their appearance. Y.Chroma's advantage lies in its open-hearted authenticity and systematic approach to fashion.
“People see the brand’s explosive growth and ask me if I want to be the next Ralph Lauren. Ralph is an icon and of course there are a million lessons to learn from him.”
The brand offers comprehensive solutions, including pre-designed color plans, ready-made outfit sets, and personalized wardrobe consultations. Quality is paramount, with a focus on using premium materials and sustainable practices. Y.Chroma's commitment to durability ensures that their garments are not just stylish but also built to last. “Our design philosophy embraces the essence of the 60’s and 70’s, where fashion was a statement of rebellion and self-expression. We pay homage to this era with premium fabrics like cognac leather and camera-grade black metal fittings, anchoring each piece in a heritage of quality and craftsmanship.”
Breaking New Ground at New York Fashion Week
“OUR COLLECTION RESONATED WITH AUDIENCES, SPARKING CONVERSATIONS ABOUT THE INTERSECTION OF SURF AND SKATE CULTURE WITH HIGH FASHION AND THE POWER OF COLOR TO TRANSFORM WARDROBES AND LIVES.”
Y.Chroma made waves at New York Fashion Week, a significant achievement for a brand focused on midlife men. The event showcased the brand's innovative designs and bold use of color, garnering praise from the fashion community. Max and his team meticulously prepared for the showcase, creating a memorable runway experience that reflected Y.Chroma's essence. “It was a huge amount of work. Our entire team and especially our principal designer, Nicky (Pachev) didn’t sleep for 90 days! Most people don’t realize that events like New York Fashion Week are not about what you’re selling today, but what you’re dreaming up for next season and next year. New York was a great opportunity for us to show the world what we have in mind for the future, especially this coming winter.”
The response from the fashion community was overwhelmingly positive, with accolades for the brand's unique approach and sophisticated aesthetic. “We received accolades from industry insiders, fashion enthusiasts, and media outlets alike, who praised our innovative designs, bold use of color, and distinctively sophisticated aesthetic.” Y.Chroma's participation in New York Fashion Week underscored its potential to redefine men's fashion on a global stage. “Our collection resonated with audiences, sparking conversations about the intersection of surf and skate culture with high fashion and the power of color to transform wardrobes and lives.”
OUR COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABILITY
Sustainability is a core value for Y.Chroma. Max emphasizes that their commitment to ethical practices and environmental responsibility was a priority from day one. The brand sources textiles from Europe, adheres to strict manufacturing standards, and focuses on product longevity. Every Y.Chroma garment comes with a Gold Standard CO2 Credit, reflecting the brand's dedication to carbon neutrality. In summary, “Y.Chroma ensures social and environmental responsibility through European textile sourcing, ethical manufacturing, durable product design, and robust carbon offset initiatives. We prioritize quality, sustainability, and the well-being of our workforce, setting a high standard for responsible business practices.”
Future Collections and Innovations
Y.Chroma's current collection draws inspiration from the magnetic charisma of icons like St. Laurent, Moore, and McQueen. The collection embodies a timeless allure, featuring premium fabrics and meticulous craftsmanship. Max is particularly excited about the upcoming Fall/Winter collection, which promises to challenge the monotony of typical winter wardrobes with vibrant colors and luxurious materials. “For our launch season, we set out to create a collection that exudes unapologetic sexiness, embodying the confidence and allure of those who dare to stand out. We believe that every man deserves to own a look that turns heads.”
“People see the brand’s explosive growth and ask me if I want to be the next Ralph Lauren. Ralph is an icon and of course there are a million lessons to learn from him.”
Innovation is key to Y.Chroma's success. The brand embraces new technologies, including AI, to enhance customer experience and extend storytelling beyond traditional photo shoots. AI-generated simulations allow Y.Chroma to reimagine wardrobes and inspire men to embrace bold fashion choices. “I’m particularly excited about our upcoming Fall Collection, which was recently showcased at New York Fashion Week and is set to launch this September. If your typical midlife male wardrobe seems like some kind of forgettability uniform, then winter coat season is even worse.
Nothing can relegate a guy to anonymity like that old gray puffer or North Face. Fall/Winter 24/25 represents a hard push back on that. You’ll see our usual obsessive commitment to flattering cut, color and quality on display in a double-take worthy of performance outerwear that fit the bill for everything from a snow day to a Starbucks run.”
"My goal is to go deep on the most impactful aesthetics from our generation's culture and artistic icons."
Fun Facts and Personal Insights
Max's journey is not just about fashion but also about personal growth and exploration. He is a language enthusiast, having learned Japanese, Spanish, and French, with plans to master Portuguese and Italian. In his free time, Max delves into the impact of AI on society, exploring how technology can enhance human experiences.
And, his personal perspective on keeping Y.Chroma innovative? “This is going to sound controversial, but our attempt to ‘be innovative’ would be somewhat arrogant. Our job isn’t to innovate. Rather, my goal is for Y.Chroma to go deep on the most impactful aesthetics from our generation’s cultural and artistic icons. Then we need to interpret that into super-premium wardrobe pieces that our guys can confidently use and recombine for decades.”
A Quote from Max Israel
My favorite from our interview: "Fashion is a bridge that takes you from where you are today to where you want to be in the future. It's about more than just clothes; it's about embracing a lifestyle that reflects your true self."
Final Thoughts
Y.Chroma is more than a fashion brand; it's a movement that empowers men to embrace their individuality and live their best lives. Max Israel's vision and dedication have positioned Y.Chroma as a trailblazer in men's fashion, offering not just clothing but a lifestyle. As the brand continues to grow and innovate, it remains committed to quality, sustainability, and the timeless allure of true style.
"FASHION IS A BRIDGE THAT TAKES YOU FROM WHERE YOU ARE TODAY TO WHERE YOU WANT TO BE IN THE FUTURE. IT'S ABOUT MORE THAN JUST CLOTHES; IT'S ABOUT EMBRACING A LIFESTYLE THAT REFLECTS YOUR TRUE SELF."
