Date TBD, 3411 Peters Colony Road Join KFMB for a morning of spring cleaning, recycling, and fun! The goal of the semi-annual Trash-Off is to remove trash from as many parks, trails, waterways, and roadways throughout Flower Mound as possible. There will be giveaways and prizes for the most trash and recyclables collected. Lunch is provided for all volunteers. The Environmental Fair will follow the Trash-Off and will include a variety of booths promoting environmental best practices including tree care, water conservation, native plants, composting, reducing trash, and recycling. Recycling opportunities include paper shredding, electronic waste, small batteries, clothing, textiles, housewares, books, eye glasses, medications, pens, mechanical pencils, markers, plastic grocery bags, plastic film, clean plastic utensils, and wire hangers. The fair is open to all ages and participation in the trash cleanup is not required for attendance, although greatly appreciated! Pets are also welcome! Bags to Benches Initiative

KFMB is collecting plastic shopping bags and plastic film to recycle. Bins are located at the Community Activity Center, the Library, the Senior Center, Bridlewood Amenity Center, Trinity Presbyterian Church, Lamar Middle School, and Overture Senior Living in Lakeside. KFMB receives a park bench every six months if 500 pounds of plastic bags and film are collected. Since the Bags to Benches program started, benches have been provided to the Flower Mound Library, Community Activity Center, Senior Center, and Bridlewood Amenity Center. KFMB Volunteers Really Add Up

In 2022, volunteers completed 3,787 service hours to date. The hours include trash pickup, Adopt-A-Spot, beautification, Bags to Benches, and Lend-A-Hand projects. Volunteers are always needed and appreciated! KFMB has board member openings and needs volunteers to help with social media and finding/ applying for grant opportunities. Adopt-A-Spot

Help KFMB keep our Town’s roads, trails, and parks clean and beautiful. Adopt-a-Spot locations are available all around Flower Mound. Details and applications are available on the KFMB website.
