Sergio’s one of the hardest working riders in BMX, hands down, he travels & does more than the majority of the pros out there today, & all with a big appreciative smile on his face. He knows how lucky he is to be riding a bike for a living & reps the brands that make it happen for him to the max. Super adaptable, Sergio is the smart choice to take on any trip, you know he’ll deliver & gets along with everyone. In Galicia, Sergio rode every spot we pulled up at, some spots definitely favored certain riders over, but Sergio laid it down everywhere & took advantage of some of the best photos ops possible ‌ The proofs in the pudding.

With the swagger of a true Italian, Stefan brings his style game everywhere he goes, including Galicia. Stefan treats his bike like its his motorcycle pushing himself to the limit, whipping it & going a little harder & blasting the makeshift tranny’s a little higher every time he rode‌.. To the point he took himself out & almost off of the trip on one gap to wall ride gone-wrong when he wrecked pretty hard scaring the crap out of the rest of the crew.

Kevin’s a workhorse, put him in any scenario, any situation & he’s going to bust his ass, come out swinging and do his best no matter what, it’s a given even if he’s not feeling-the situation. Maybe its his upbringing, his overall love for riding or just knowing his bike will perform however he wants it, Kevin’s definitely in control. & has a genuine passion for riding, & it shows every time he jumps on his bike. Galicia is a far cry from the easy to find spots back home, of Barcelona or Madrid, it’s a uniquely beautiful place, with phenomenal scenery & breathtaking sunsets, & even better un-ridden terrain that Kevin definitely took advantage of with the help of an imaginative crew, some sketchy ramps & a lot of hard work on his part.

In a crew of foreigners, Devon definitely comes across as the loud obnoxious American, but with his friendly demeanor & the common language of BMX, its hard not to love him, he just has this positive fun loving personality that’s infectious. Coming to Galicia with an injured knee, it was unexpected that he managed to ride at all, & especially at the level he did, not a day went by without an element of surprise of what he was a able pull off with bunk knee. Maybe it’s the youthful exuberance, riding confidence or just pure luck, Devon powered through. & on a mainly tranny inspired trip with some of the best “slashers” in the game, the very adaptable but slightly slowed Devon managed to squeeze out some pretty awesome moves on some equally amazing, unique & untouched spots.

Chris was the other mainly street dog on the trip, & is undoubtedly the life of any party, he keeps things rolling & everyone smiling, he finds the funny in almost everything, even when he takes himself out by folding his foot under itself on the first few days of the trip. Although riding with a foot that could barely fit into a shoe that obviously slowed him some, by the end of the trip, Chris pulled it together & powered through with some moves to impress & kept Devon company on their pity-party of injuries.

Much like Devon, Shane could be considered the loud obnoxious American among a crew of foreigners, but his love for bike riding & sense of humor is the common tie & what breaks down any language or geographical barriers. His personality is as big as his hair, & matched only by his love for bike throwing & basketball. His unique approach to riding sets him apart from the crowd, which is hard to achieve these days but very refreshing in all honesty, with his own brand of pegless freecoaster riding he’s more comfortable rolling backwards than forwards a lot of the time & will regularly hunt out the nearest manual pad or stair set to session while the rest of the crew are out hunting for tranny’s or rails … Shane’s definitely one in a million,

Out of his element & on new terrain, Matt’s like a giddy little excited kid. He has the energy of a 7 year old with the happy go lucky personality to match. He rides nonstop, especially when he’s trying to pull something, it’s just back-to-back to back until he pulls the intended trick. Which was the case a good few times on flybikescoastin trip, he worked hard & got it done. Matt has a style all his own & is something that has to be experienced first hand to appreciate, just slashing around, carving the concrete wave in his cut-off jeans & taking advantage of any opportunity for a suntan, Matt pulls speed out of thin air & somehow hits the invisible brakes on-route to some amazing results on the most amazing scenery, but not necessarily the easiest terrain to ride in the world.

Ruben, with his down to earth & somewhat relaxed personality, it’s kinda easy to forget his legend & what he brings to the game. Being around & riding with him is unique. Most riders tend to show the whole range of their riding ability, but with Ruben, he likes to pick one thing to do & do it until he gets his fill, which doesn’t make sense to many & may take months or even years until something else catches his fancy, by that time the rest of the sport is only just now starting to do what he did years ago, some may call it bike wiggles & some may call it art, but. With the same mindset, it’s Ruben’s concept of modular ramps that could be placed anywhere in any configuration possible that the trip was based around. Sticking mainly to the coast of Galicia, hitting small, untouched seaside towns where no other BMXer’s or skaters had ever been or seen. 58 / 59

Not a moment passes without Courage smiling, he’s just happy to be on his bike, happy to be on the road, happy to be around good friends & I think the only time he may be happier is when he’s sleeping, which he did whenever possible & was always the last to wake up in the morning on this trip. Tagging along as the token flow team rider among the pro team riders on the Galicia trip, Courage’s quiet demeanor but bike skills that amaze are a constant source of amazement.
