This coming-of-gender graphic novel debut from trans creator Joris Bas Backer is an enlightening and often hilarious tale that casts light on what it was like to be transgender before help was more accessible and widespread.
When their Mum moves to another country to work on fixing the Millennium bug, Jet is forced to stay at a boarding house. But something’s not quite right, and it’s not just the out-of-control kids that Jet has to live with. Jet begins to notice that they don’t feel like the other girls in their class. Jet slowly begins to realise that they may be more of a boy than a girl. Is that even possible? And who do they talk to about these feelings?
Joris Bas Backer grew up in The Hague, Bucharest, New York and in an uninviting Dutch city called Oegstgeest. His work deals with the topics of longing, identity, gender dysphoria and gender roles. Since achieving his Bachelor of Fine Arts at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam in 2003, Joris has lived in Berlin and works independently as an artist, comic artist and illustrator.
'A nuanced look into the life of a trans teen by a trans author and illustrator.'

A deep dive into the world of ghosts with a fun, informative, humorous look at the history of the strange world of the paranormal.
Through the decades, investigators and mediums have dedicated themselves to the task of reaching through the veil and contacting the other side. This illustrative study explores whether ghosts are the souls of the dead, windows in time or interdimensional beings, and how cultures through the ages have responded with fear and fascination to their horrific haunts and eerie appearances.
Adam Allsuch Boardman grew up in an exceptionally green part of the Yorkshire Dales in England, and studied BA Illustration at Leeds Arts University. He is currently a freelance illustrator doing jobs for national museum exhibits, educational publications and historic businesses. He is greatly influenced by film and television as well as books, from authors such as Agatha Christie to Isaac Asimov.

Vibrant illustrations enhance the rich history, from Kabuki theatre to Shakespeare, the revolutionary Stonewall riots to the thriving New York ballroom scene.
Jake Hall is a freelance writer who has written for Dazed Digital, i-D, VICE, Highsnobiety, INTO, Refinery29 UK, and British Vogue.
Helen Li is an Australian illustrator based in Warsaw, Poland. She has worked with Google, Facebook, Dropbox and Redbull.

The first time we came to this place, it was so small, there was barely anything here. But it was ours to nurture. We watched it grow and learned from it.
We soon found out that the more we explored this place, the bigger it became.
Oh, wait! I should be drawing this!
