intro

I

n a world facing uncertain times, children’s books have never felt more necessary. Our libraries are being closed down at an alarming rate and the imaginative and creative time for children is becoming more and more limited. In a time of new medias and technologies, there is something enduring about the plucky book – it can co-exist with every new challenge thrown at it. At Flying Eye, we have been passionately working in collaboration with some fantastic authors and illustrators. We’re still a young list, but in Spring 2017 we are publishing some of our strongest titles yet. Books that encourage compassion, bravery, and a greater understanding of the natural world around us. These are but a few of the universal themes that we feel are as important as ever, and that we hope every reader (young or old) can enjoy in our books. Whether it’s following a daring sea adventure (The Secret of Black Rock) or perusing pages of natural wonder (Wild Animals of the South), we see it as our mission to provide the best quality children’s books imaginable.
