In terms of the ultimate fly fishing adventure, Tsimane has it all. Located in a remote indigenous territory where the Bolivian Andes meet the upper Amazon, the freestone rivers of the region are both familiar and foreign. Each season, hundreds of thousands of baitfish migrate up the greater Secure system and with them come thousands of large, aggressively feeding dorado. Here it is common to see packs of fierce dorado herding baitfish into the shallows and mercilessly ripping through them. Visiting anglers wet wade and cast six-inch flies on wire leaders through an endless array of pristine water types. Their reward: consistent catches of pugnacious, aerial dorado in the 8 to 35-pound class as well as additional jungle species like the fickle pacu and the elusive surubi. With few exceptions, the many anglers we have sent to Tsimane rate the trip among the top three angling experiences in their careers.
The Region Tsimane is located in north-central Bolivia where the rugged foothills of the Andes meet the Amazon’s most remote southern tributaries. The Tsimane program is located in the heart of the Isiboro Secure Indian Territory and National Park and is a sustainable joint venture between Argentinebased Untamed Angling and the Tipnis native people. The region is incredibly wild and beautiful, enabling its native people to live simple and largely traditional subsistencelifestyles. Tsimane guests have exclusive angling access to this vast and remarkable protected region. Â
The Lodges Tsimane offers two separate and equally appealing programs, the Secure/Agua Negra combination trip and Pluma Lodge. Both programs feature deluxe double occupancy safari-style tents with private bathrooms, covered decks, storage, lighting and ceiling fans. Pluma takes eight anglers per week and offers a cross section of slightly more rugged terrain while the Secure/Agua Negra program offers two separate four-person lodges that anglers transfer between mid-week. This program is less physically demanding and offers a very special interface with the native inhabitants. Both offer the same caliber of worldclass fishing as well as great meals complimented by fine Argentine wines. Both programs serve meals in spacious native hardwood main lodges where guests enjoy excellent appetizers, an open bar and free Wi-Fi. The Fishing Anglers at both Pluma and the Secure/Agua Negra programs fish a combination of the world’s best and most interesting dorado rivers. Anglers will head out to fish in either large motorized super-dugouts or in smaller pole-pushed traditional dugouts. There will be two native boatmen responsible for your safe travel and one international English speaking guide overseeing your angling experience. On certain sections of river anglers may fish from the super dugouts, but the majority of the fishing will be done while wet wading. At times anglers will need to get out of the boats and walk and they may also be
enlisted to help drag the boat through sections of skinny water. Anglers will rotate through multiple beats of productive water during their stay. For the most adventuresome anglers, both programs offer the option of overnighting at rustic upper-river out-camps where you can experience the full splendor the Bolivian outback.
Getting There Guests will fly into Santa Cruz, Bolivia and spend their first night at the comfortable Hotel Los Tajibos (included). The following morning guests will transfer to the domestic airport and take a two-hour charter flight into a remote native airstrip. From there anglers will transfer by boat to their elected lodge. Outbound anglers will spend another night at the Hotel Los Tajibos before heading home the following morning.

ITINERARY OPTIONS Guests will depart the States on Thursday and arrive in Santa Cruz, Bolivia on Friday. They will return to Santa Cruz the following Saturday and return back to the States on Sunday.

The Tipnis Natives (where Tsimane is located) have formed a board to protect their interests moving forward. The funds from the tax will be used primarily for social projects, infra-structure development, transportation, medical and education projects. The tax will be $550 per person. Additionally there will be an Isiboro Secure National Park Fee of $120 per person. These fees will be payable in cash to a Tsimane representative upon arrival in Santa Cruz.
