Chris Solomon V83 4th Victorian Championship Came out of the B Main

Formula Motorsport’s drivers Paul and Chris Solomon both performed outstandingly well at the Victorian 360 Championship held at Avalon Raceway on Saturday the 10th January 2015. With the threat of rain predicted by the Bureau of meteorology, the Victorian championship event proceeded on a very tacky track which seemed to get faster as the night progressed.

Paul Solomon V7. Paul time trialed in 10th place overall. Heat 1. On the second restart, Paul starting from position 2 stormed around the V91 of Liam Williams to take the lead and went on to win. His best lap time was 12.757. He was the only car in the 12 second bracket. Dash. Paul starting out of position 2 but was unable to round up Domain Ramsay in turn

1/2 and had to be content to finish 2nd which gave him a front row start in the final A Final. Domain Ramsay opted to start on the outside front and was able to lead into the back straight. Domain led every lap with Paul running in second place to the chequered flag.

learnt a lot about chassis set up and shocks etc. and the support from Travis Rilat, John Binz, Rusty and Josh Fisher and others over there, was simply fantastic.

Paul said; “I can’t thank Boze enough for a lend of his engine, it ran great.

Got to say the Ostrich Engine in the US was also a real gun. It’s a shame that I damaged the motor earlier this year at The car tonight was fantastic, I have the first All Stars event, which I admit been growing in confidence in recent was purely my fault. The good news is that parts are on the events and this new “XXX” Chassis is working well, I feel very comfortable in way from Ostrich Engines and the engine should be up and running Mid Febthe car unlike in recent years, when I ruary. was all at sea. I think the racing in the USA during last winter helped me enormously, I

Chris Solomon V83. Chris had a early draw in the time trial session and made mistakes on both laps and ended up 2nd last in the time trials. Heat 1. Starting from the rear of the field due to his poor time trial, Chris thought he had the car speed but was frustrated because he had difficulty in passing, he only managed to

pick up a few positions to finish 7 in the heat. B main. Chris started from pole position and simply blitzed the field to win by half a lap to Phil Lock. Chris’s fastest lap was 12.912 which was over half second faster that the other cars in the B Main. A Main. Chris starting from position 13, commenced to round up cars from the flag and after only 4 laps, Chris was already up to position 8. Then after making up considerable ground on Cunningham (V 74) and Lincoln (V8) and passing them both, Chris by lap 13 was in position 6. By lap 22 Chris was up to 4th position but no matter what he tried he was unable to pass the V91 car of Liam Williams.

Chris said; “I could have tried a few desperate passing moves, but it was not worth the risk of damaging my car or Liam’s car, so I was content with 4th. If the event was a 30 lapper, I think I had something for the cars in front, but

anyway, that was not to be. We are straight and no damage and ready to move onto Simpson next week.

360 A MAIN. V7 had the fastest lap time of 13.179, V83 (in traffic) had the second fastest with the race winner (Ramsey) having the 3rd Chris had the second fastest time of all cars fastest time. in the A Main behind Paul Solomon even OPEN A MAIN. though he was in traffic for most of the Only 4 Open cars had a faster lap time than race. the V7 (during the 360 A Main) with 2 cars Interesting Facts when comparing the equaled V7’s time of 13.7 360 sprints cars with the 410s Note; the top 2 open cars where about 0.7 sec faster per lap than the V7 in the finals.
