*Greeting

God of Grace and God of Glory God of grace and God of glory, on thy people pour thy power. Crown Thine ancient church’s story, bring her bud to glorious flower. Grant us wisdom, grant us courage, For the facing of this hour, for the facing of this hour.

Lo! the hosts of evil ‘round us, scorn thy Christ, assail His ways. From the fears that long have bound us, free our hearts to faith and praise. Grant us wisdom, grant us courage, For the living of these days, for the living of these days.

Save us from weak resignation, to the evils we deplore. Let the search for Thy salvation, be our glory evermore. Grant us wisdom, grant us courage, Serving Thee whom we adore, serving Thee whom we adore.

*Hymn of Praise

*Invitation

Rev. Ann Spears Leader: Christ our Lord invites to His table all who love Him, who earnestly repent of their sin and seek to live in peace with one another. Therefore, let us confess our sins before God and one another. People: Merciful God, we confess that we have not always loved You with our whole hearts. We have failed to be an obedient church. We have not done Your will; we have broken Your law; we have rebelled against Your love; we have not loved our neighbors, and we have not heard the cry of the needy. Forgive us, we pray. Free us for joyful obedience, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Welcome

Here I Am Lord #593 I, the Lord of sea and sky, I have heard my people cry. All who dwell in dark and sin my hand will save. I who made the stars of night, I will make their darkness bright. Who will bear my light to them? Whom shall I send? Refrain Here I am, Lord. Is it I, Lord? I have heard you calling in the night. I will go, Lord, if you lead me. I will hold your people in my heart. I, the Lord of wind and flame, I will tend the poor and lame. I will set a feast for them. My hand will save. Finest bread I will provide, till their hearts be satisfied. I will give My life to them, Whom shall I send? Repeat Refrain

The Great Thanksgiving

Let us give thanks to the Lord, our God! It is right to give our thanks and praise! It is right, and a good and joyful thing, always and everywhere to give thanks to you, Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth. And so, with your people on earth and all the company of heaven we praise your name and join their unending hymn: Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might, heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest! Holy are you, and blessed is your Son Jesus Christ, by the baptism of his suffering, death, and resurrection you gave birth to your Church, delivered us from slavery to sin and death, and made with us a new covenant by water and the Spirit. On the night before He went to the cross, our Lord took bread, gave thanks to you, broke the bread, gave it to His disciples, and said: “Take, eat: this is my body which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” When the supper was over, Jesus took the cup, gave thanks to you, gave it to His disciples, and said: “Drink from this, all of you; this is my blood of the new covenant, poured out for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.” And so, in remembrance of these your mighty acts in Jesus Christ, we offer ourselves in praise and thanksgiving as a holy and living sacrifice, in union with Christ’s offering for us, as we proclaim the mystery of the faith: Christ has died, Christ is risen, Christ will come again.

Prayer of Thanksgiving

Eternal God, we give you thanks for this holy mystery In which you have given yourself to us. Grant that we may go into the world in the strength of your spirit, To give ourselves for others, in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

Standing on the Promises #374 Standing on the promises of Christ my King, Through eternal ages let his praises ring; Glory in the highest, I will shout and sing, Standing on the promises of God. Refrain Standing, standing, standing on the promises of God my Savior; Standing, standing, I’m standing on the promises of God. Standing on the promises that cannot fail, When the howling storms of doubt and fear assail, By the living Word of God I shall prevail, Standing on the promises of God. Repeat Refrain Standing on the promises of Christ the Lord, Bound to him eternally by love’s strong cord, Overcoming daily with the Spirit’s sword, Standing on the promises of God. Repeat Refrain

Ye Servants of God

Ye servants of God, your Master proclaim, And publish abroad his wonderful name; The name all victorious of Jesus extol, His kingdom is glorious and rules over all.

Postlude

Pour out your Holy Spirit on us gathered here, and on these gifts of bread and wine. Make them be for us the body and blood of Christ, that we may be for the world the body of Christ, redeemed by his blood. By your Spirit make us one with Christ, one with each other, and one in ministry to all the world, until Christ comes in final victory, and we feast at his heavenly banquet.
