SITUATION ANALYSIS On my assumption of duty as Minister of FCT, I was confronted with the following challenges:  a chaotic and corrupt land administration system,  abuse of mass housing programme,  endemic traffic congestion,  failing environmental orderliness,  threatening security situation,  inadequate transportation infrastructure & services,

ROADMAP FOR STRATEGIC DEVELOPMENT LAUNCHING OF ACCELERATED AREA COUNCIL TITLE REISSUANCE SCHEME (AACTRIS)  Conversion of customary (Area

Council) land titles to statutory titles saw the lunching of Accelerated Area Council Titles Reissuance Scheme (AACTRIS) on the 19th of December, 2011.

 So far, the Project Implementation

Committee has cleared 170 cases for issuance of Certificates of Occupancy with the hope of increasing this figure to 1000 in the shortest time.

the Security Agencies of the FCT Commands have resulted in some of the success recorded. They include:

 370 stolen vehicles recovered.  150 suspected armed robbers arrested.  Prompt response to distress calls reduced from 30 minutes to 10     

minutes. Several criminal hideouts were raided in various locations in Abuja. About 600 kilograms of substances suspected to be Indian hemp and other hard drugs recovered 35 drug addicts were rehabilitated and 19 are still undergoing rehabilitation. 24 hours surveillance and guards in strategic location in Abuja. Ensured crime free festivities during the EMBER months.

 The FCTA through AICL partnered with The Churchgate Group to develop the Abuja World Trade Centre (WTC). The project is rising from the ashes of the former Bakassi market in the Central Business Area  The Abuja WTC is located on a 6.102 hectares site along Constitution Avenue, CBD, Abuja  The site is being transformed into a mega complex consisting of high rise residential towers (37 floors), office towers, conference facilities and a shopping mall with entertainment facilities  The first phase will be delivered by the year 2013 at an estimated cost of N156Bn
