MILITARY APPRECIATION NIGHT AT THE REDHAWKS

June 20 marked The Chamber’s 12th annual Military Appreciation Night at the RedHawks. On this sunny day, families enjoyed a complimentary picnic, fun with balloon and tattoo artists and inflatables for children!

Molly Gilbert and her two daughters, Lydia (7) and Emersyn (3) set the stage by throwing the first honorary pitch for the Redhawks on this special evening.

Molly and her daughters are keeping busy while husband and father, Joe Gilbert, is away for military deployment. Joe is a Staff Sergent with the 191 Military Police. The family enjoys spending time together at the lake, but of course, it isn’t the same without Joe there. The family has a paper chain counting down the days until Joe returns home, ready for a pontoon ride.

The Chamber prioritizes and supports its local service members and their families. Because Molly and her girls were ready and willing to help out and throw the honorary first pitch, we at The Chamber thought we would do something kind in return to boost their spirits while Joe is away.

Before Molly, Lydia and Emersyn threw the first pitch, our announcer asked the stadium to bring their attention to the video board for a special message. It was Joe. After working with the Minnesota Army National Guard, The Chamber was able to get a video from Joe to play on screen at Military Appreciation Night as a way to thank the Gilberts for throwing the first pitch.

Specialist Elijah O’Sullivan, a member of the North Dakota National Guard’s 188th Army Band, sang the National Anthem at the event.
