Folkways values peer-driven community content and interactions, recognizing the importance of meeting students where they are and tailoring their approach to their unique needs. They are committed to building a strong sense of community among students and providing them with resources and support. They believe that by fostering an inclusive and collaborative community, they can empower students to develop the skills and relationships necessary for success in their chosen career paths. One of the ways they do this is through a CampusFM Internship called the Creatorship. The Creatorship is a comprehensive 10-week program aimed at honing students' abilities. The program provides in-depth training on using social media as a potent tool for communication, community engagement and marketing. In a similar vein, Folkways has reintroduced the Intern Experience. This program aligns perfectly with their mission to fortify community bonds, facilitate learning and pave the way for student success.

Intern Experience

The Intern Experience, originated by Emerging Prairie, is an enriching 10-week skill development program. Businesses can enroll their interns in this immersive journey to provide them with a fulfilling and enriching internship experience that equips them for future success. With weekly two-hour sessions, interns can expect to build professional skills, navigate real-world challenges and gain valuable insights from industry professionals. The program focuses on fostering a strong sense of community, setting and achieving SMART goals, managing time effectively, navigating ambiguity, embracing feedback and honing emotional intelligence, all while offering opportunities to network with local leaders and envision life as a young professional. This immersive journey is dedicated to equipping interns with the necessary tools and connections for career and personal success, thereby strengthening company culture, boosting performance and contributing to the local economy. Folkways partners with Greater Fargo Moorhead Economic Development Corporation and Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber of Commerce (FMWF Chamber) to bring this transformative experience to life.
