Mayo Clinic is preparing to start construction this month for build-out of the Mayo Atrium restaurant that will be operated by Jacksonville chefs Matthew and David Medure. Plans show seating for 220 comprising 164 for dining, 24 in a coffee shop and 32 on the exterior patio. The dining seating comprises 114 in dining areas, 20 in the lounge, 22 in the bar and eight for private dining. The city is reviewing a permit application for Batson-Cook Co. to build-out 8,400 square feet for the restaurant and related space at an estimated cost of $5.2 million. “We are targeting an opening in November,” said Mayo spokesman Kevin Punsky. interior designer. The restaurant, kitchen space and courtyard are planned on the first floor of a two-story “retail link” building at the Southside campus at 4500 San Pablo Road S. The restaurant will be part of the connector structure that will include about 25,000 square feet of space for retail and other uses. A year ago, Mayo Clinic announced the Medure brothers will open a 200-seat, 7,000-square-foot upscale-casual

The Boeing Co. aerospace company intends to open an office at Lake Gray Plaza in Southwest Jacksonville, but hasn’t announced what functions it will serve. The city is reviewing a permit application for a 22,677-squarefoot office build-out for Boeing at 6225 Lake Gray Blvd. At that size, it could accommodate at least 120 to 200 employees. No contractor is listed for the estimated $400,000 build-out. Codes-ABC Inc. is handling code compliance. The Meek Companies of Jacksonville manages the property. Craig Meek of The Meek Companies said CBRE First Vice President Bruce Jackson represented the landlord in the transaction. A group of investors owns Lake Gray Plaza through Montrealbased Lake Gray Plaza LLC. Meek said Boeing will lease 25,000 square feet of space, which will bring the 100,000-squarefoot business complex to full occupancy. He said Feb. 4 the project is out to bid to contractors and he expects the permit to be issued within a few weeks. Boeing issued a statement Feb 4: “The Boeing Company is always evaluating strategies to best serve the needs of our customers and accommodate new business,” it said. “In the Jacksonville area, specifically Cecil Airport and Naval Air Station Jacksonville, Boeing supports the U.S. Air Force and

Westside warehouse used by FedEx sold for $10.8M Commonwealth Properties L.P. sold a Westside warehouse used by FedEx to an investment group for $10.8 million. The FedEx Ship Center comprises about 97,280 square feet on 6.9 acres at 7490 Commonwealth Ave., west of Interstate 295. The sale and mortgage were executed Feb. 3 and recorded with the Duval County Clerk of Courts on Feb. 4. The buyers comprise CPI Jacksonville I LLC, CPI Jacksonville II LLC, CPI Jacksonville III LLC and FEM Commonwealth Ave. LLC. The CPI Jacksonville LLCs are based in Teterboro, New Jersey, and FEM Real Estate is in Montville, New Jersey.
