Aldi announced Feb. 4 it will open its newest store Feb. 18 at 3650 Philips Highway in South Jacksonville. The grocery store will be open 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. “Opening new stores allows us to provide even more shoppers convenient access to fresh, highquality groceries at unbeatable prices,” said Matt Thon, Haines City division vice president, in a news release. The company said the location is part of the company’s national expansion plan to become the third-largest U.S. grocery retailer by store count by the end of 2022. Aldi said its stores are designed for simplicity and efficiency. A typical store is about 12,000 square feet of retail space, “making ALDI stores much easier to navigate than traditional grocery stores,” said the release.
