Now named College Park, JWB Real Estate Capital plans a $3 million renovation of the Arlington shopping center.

JWB Real Estate Capital confirmed Feb. 28 that it seeks a grocery store to anchor College Park, the renamed Town & Country Shopping Center at northeast Arlington Expressway and University Boulevard in Arlington. “JWB hopes to secure a grocery store tenant to anchor the plaza and has been in conversation with prospective grocers to customize the space to suit their needs,” said JWB President Alex Sifakis in a news release. Hookah bar, restaurant taking Two Dudes space in Riverside The restaurant will serve lunch, dinner, drinks, and have hookah pipes made in Germany.

Three weeks after Two Dudes Seafood closed in Riverside, another operator is moving in. One Bar & Lounge intends to
open the first week of April in the space at 2665 Park St., the northeast corner of the King Street intersection. Signs for the new business are posted on the building’s windows. Joe Gjergji is the owner of One
Bar & Lounge. It will serve lunch, dinner and hookah, which starts at 4 p.m. It also will have a full bar with craft cocktails. Gjergji said the food would be a mix of Mediterranean and southern Italian cuisine.
The hookah pipes are custommade in Germany and can’t be found elsewhere in Jacksonville, he said. The pipes will use organic tobacco. SEE HOOKAH, PAGE 2
FSCJ to receive $1.52M for construction education The state awarded Florida State College at Jacksonville $1.52 million from the state for general construction trades education and training. The money is part of $14 million Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis announced Feb. 26 to support construction labor force training. Through the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity’s Rebuild Florida Recovery Training Program, $14 million will support seven Florida organizations comprising schools, colleges and local development boards in areas impacted by Hurricane Irma to learn construction trades. DeSantis said communities in Florida have yet to recover from Irma’s impact in 2017.
