space would be an indoor-outdoor bar and lounge. The top floor also has a 9,469-squarefoot terrace and a 2,991-square-foot resident amenity space with a swimming pool. At ground level, the developer expects to include a 5,029-square-foot courtyard. The report says a 6,100-square-foot plaza is planned at A. Philip Randolph Boulevard and East Adams Street with built-in benches and movable tables. Iconic Real Estate Investments President Paul Grainger signed a purchaseand-sale agreement in June to sell the site.

First Baptist Church of Jacksonville is appealing the Jacksonville Historic Preservation Commission’s decision to deny a demolition permit for the church’s building at 125 W. Church St. City Council Resolution 20200188 challenges the commission’s 5-2 vote Feb. 26 that halted the proposed demolition. An entry on the city’s legislative bill search web portal offers a description of the resolution and bill number, but the bill documents were not uploaded as of the afternoon March 6. First Baptist Church Senior Pastor Heath Lambert did not return a request for comment. The commission decided the 1927 building could meet criteria to be designated a local landmark. The bill entry states the appeal is requested as a one-cycle emergency. If the emergency is approved by the full Council at its March 10 meeting, the church’s appeal will have to pass the Council Land Use and Zoning Committee before final Council consideration. If it moves through committee, the full Council could vote on the appeal on March 24. First Baptist wants to demolish the building to make way for a welcome center and primary entrance for the historic 182,000-square-foot Hobson Auditorium, the church administration building and the Ruth Lindsay Auditorium. A Georgia developer seeks conceptual design approval for The Doro apartment, retail and restaurant community from the Downtown Development Review Board. Valdosta, Georgia-based Rise Properties LLC proposes to redevelop the George Doro Fixture Co. property next to Intuition Ale Works and Manifest Distilling, near the Downtown Sports Complex. Downtown Investment Authority staff recommends approval for the eight-story, 247-unit mixed-use project at 102 A. Philip Randolph Blvd. The 1.63-acre property is bounded by Adams, Lafayette and Forsyth streets and

The retail is at Forsyth Street and A. Philip Randolph Boulevard and will face an outdoor area that Rise Properties calls “The Alley” between the south side of the development and Intuition Ale Works. The eighth floor will focus on retail space and resident amenities. Plans show 2,652 square feet of outdoor retail space with a 4,653-square-foot rooftop terrace for customers. Duck Donuts opens in Bartram Park Duck Donuts opened March 7 in the Shoppes at Bartram Park. The shop sells doughnuts, coffee and milkshakes. It allows customers to watch their doughnuts made from start to finish and customize the toppings. The shop is at 13820 Old St. Augustine Road, Unit 141, between Jersey Mike’s Subs and Sushi House Japanese Restaurant. The shopping center is off Interstate 95. Duck Donuts will operate 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily. A single doughnut is $1.80 and a dozen goes for $17.50. It’s the Pennsylvania-based chain’s fifth Florida location.
