Main & Six Brewing Company plans an expansion that would bring another dining option to Springfield and the neighborhood’s first rooftop bar. Owner Dennis Espinosa said he and his mother, co-owner Cindy Lasky, want to renovate a 3,600-square-foot building next to the brewery and connect the two. That space will house a restaurant, kitchen, barrel aging room and restrooms. He will add a 2,000-squarefoot rooftop space above the

addition. The rooftop beer garden will be about 500 square feet. There also will be office space on the second floor. In addition, he will add a 100-square-foot outdoor patio and pave the adjacent lot for parking. The expansion will bring Main & Six’s total space to about 7,200 square feet at 1636 N. A Jacksonville Icemen hockey team affiliate completed the $6 million purchase of the Jacksonville Ice & Sportsplex on March 15 as a $7.5 million incentive package to aid the deal nears a final City Council vote. JICE LLC, managed by Icemen majority owner Andrew Kaufmann, bought the ice rink facility at 3605 Philips Highway from PSF I Jax Metro LLC, according to the Duval County Clerk of Courts. Records also show Kaufmann issued a $6.1 million mortgage to JICE LLC on March 15. Team President Bob Ohrablo said Feb. 8 that the Icemen organization intended to buy the team’s practice facility and install a second full-size ice rink, a sports-themed restaurant and facilities to support youth and adult hockey programs. A legislative summary filed with Council Ordinance 20210113 breaks down the $18 million project to $6.1 million for the property and business acquisition and $11.9 million for renovations. Council is considering Icemen corporate arm SZH Hockey LLC’s request for a $6.5 million, 20-year construction loan at 3% interest and a $1 million completion grant to help finance the rink revamp. The loan and economic development agreement would be with team subsidiary company Icemen Igloo LLC, city documents state. Best Buy closes its Regency store Best Buy in Regency is closed permanently, according to the store’s phone recording and a sign previously posted on the door. The store at 9355 Atlantic Blvd. near Regency Square Mall is the only location in Jacksonville to close, but joins others in Illinois, Virginia, New York and Massachusetts, Business Insider reported. A sign on the door previously said, “This location is closed… permanently. We do not know why. We do not know who is moving in.” Fixtures are for sale in the store, according to the sign. Best Buy operates four other Jacksonville stores.
