Miami-based Related Group requests another $1 million in tax refunds for its proposed RD River City Brewery apartments Downtown because of city-recommended design changes and the increased cost of materials. A Downtown Investment Author-
ity board committee is scheduled to vote April 16 on proposed updates to Related Group’s term sheet that increases the project’s Recapture Enhanced Value Grant from $11.9 million to $12.99 million. The larger tax refund would bring the city’s total investment in the proposed Southbank apartments to $18,274,679, according to a DIA staff report released April 9. Related Group estimates its plan to demolish the River City Brewing Co. restaurant at 835 Museum Circle and

The Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp announced April 12 that Fidelity National Information Services Inc. will be the team’s presenting sponsor through the 2025 season. Jacksonville-based FIS is the official technology provider to Minor League Baseball and processes all retail and food payments at 121 Financial Ballpark. As part of the deal, the Jumbo Shrimp each year will donate a penny from every transaction up to $10,000 to a local charity or organization. “The Jumbo Shrimp and FIS share a commitment to delivering excellent customer service to guests and fans and the promise to make a positive impact in the Northeast Florida community,” Jumbo Shrimp owner and CEO Ken Babby said in a news release. “We look forward to growing what was already a positive partnership and the opportunity to better our local community on the First Coast.” “FIS is proud to call Jacksonville home, and not only support the Jumbo Shrimp, but greatly value the role we play in creating an exceptional experience for all Jumbo Shrimp fans,” FIS President Bruce Lowthers said in the release. Opening day for the Jumbo Shrimp, the Triple-A club of the Miami Marlins, is May 4. The team also announced: ■ Cox Media Group station ESPN 690-AM will broadcast all 120 games. City moves Jacksonville Jazz Festival to the fall The 40th annual JackSonville Jazz Festival will be held this fall, more than a year after the event was canceled in 2020 because of the coronavirus pandemic. The city Division of Sports and Entertainment announced the festival will begin Sept. 29 with the Jacksonville Jazz Piano Competition at the Florida Theatre. The event will continue Oct. 1-3 with two stages of free, live entertainment. Artists, locations, VIP ticket packages and seating will be announced on social media feeds and at jacksonvillejazzfest.com.
