A DDRB staff report and renderings released May 6 show a restaurant with 3,200 square feet of outdoor dining space, a 914-square-foot indoor dining area and 883 square feet for kitchen and storage. That totals 4,997 square feet. However, the first line of the report calls the restaurant at Museum Circle Drive a 3,500-square-foot project. Legislation and the proposed $18.27

Bank of America announced May 6 it named Mark K. Bennett as president of Bank of America Jacksonville, succeeding Greg Smith, who announced his retirement earlier this month after 15 years as market president. Smith’s LinkedIn profile shows that he moved to Jacksonville in 2000 as the Southeast Region business lending executive and is a senior credit product manager for Southeast Business Banking. In August 2006, he was named to the additional role of Jacksonville and Northeast Florida market president. He served as JAX Chamber chairman in 2013. The news release said that as Jacksonville president, Bennett will be responsible for connecting the banking and investment resources offered through the bank’s eight lines of business to companies, families and individuals across Northeast Florida. JAX Chamber reports that Bank of America has about 7,700 employees in the Jacksonville area. The Bank of America news release said Bennett will lead the effort to deploy the company’s resources to address social concerns, strengthen economic opportunity and build strong communities, as well as support

Related Group submitted designs to the city for the restaurant it agreed to build as part of its $99.16 million apartment community on the Downtown Jacksonville Southbank. The Miami-based developer seeks conceptual approval for the restaurant design and final approval for the RD River City Brewery apartments at the May 13 Downtown Development Review Board meeting. The 327-unit multifamily project and restaurant would replace River City Brewing Co. at 835 Museum Circle, west of Friendship Park.

Regal Cinemas reopening in Jacksonville Moviegoers can begin returning to Regal Cinemas in Jacksonville. Regal Avenues 4DX & RPX reopened May 7 and Regal River City Marketplace will reopen May 14, the company said in a news release. The theaters have been closed since October and before that from March to August because of the pandemic. Regal Avenues is showing “Wrath of Man,” “Mortal Kombat,” and “Godzilla vs. Kong.” Guests will be required to wear face masks while in the theater and lobby, except when eating or drinking. The seat reservation system will keep two empty seats between groups.
