Duval St. Downtown. “This location has served us well, but in actuality we are busting at the seams,” CEO Jennifer Ryan said in a news release June 15. “We are looking for more space to serve more patients, educate the community, and serve in partnerships with other community organizations.” Vo l u n te e rs in Medicine provides free outpatient primary and Ryan specialty care to the working, low-income or uninsured population. The release said the organization wants larger space to accommodate for nutrition and wellness rooms, group education and oneon-one education. Its current space is 6,399 square feet, according to the Duval County Property Appraiser. The Salvation Army is listed as the building owner. The organization seeks a location to buy or for a long-term lease within 5 miles of its current Downtown site at Duval and Ocean streets. ChenMed Dedicated Senior Medical Centers will add two more locations to the three it opened in Jacksonville in 2018. Work OK’d toward Regions Bank’s Downtown sign Work is starting toward Regions Bank’s new rooftop sign Downtown. The city issued a permit June 15 for Beeman Development Group LLC of Palmetto to improve the building’s rooftop structure to carry the new sign at a cost of $35,000. The Jacksonville City Council approved a $1.1 million incentives package for improvements to Regions Bank’s historic Downtown headquarters building at 51 W. Bay St. The deal also is designed to mitigate Regions’ financial impact from a parking garage that will be built for VyStar Credit Union. Construction of the garage will block Regions’ existing signage.
