NYC Sample Sale offers women’s clothing lines from BCI Brands.

BCI Brands, which comprises women’s clothing lines that include Vince Camuto and Chaus, will move into the former Versona store space in The Markets at Town Center. The store is called NYC Sample Sale and is a oneof-a-kind for the New York City-based company, with prices up to 80% off. It opens July 8 for four months, although the sales volume might change that. “The customer is going to be able to come in here and essentially update her wardrobe for not a ton of money with great product,” said General Manager Colleen Berry Becker. She said the store has a selection for all ages and sizes from petite to missy to plus. BCI Brands offers women’s dresses, jackets, pants, SEE MATHIS, PAGE 2

NYC Sample Sale opens July 8 at 4866 Big Island Drive in The Markets at Town Center.

The city issued a permit June 30 for a Walmart Health clinic in West Jacksonville. It was the third clinic permit in a week and the fifth Duval County health center approved for Walmart. The June 30 permit is for a $900,000 expansion for Walmart Health at the Supercenter at 6830 Normandy Blvd. Golden & Associates Construction LLC of Birmingham, Alabama, is the contractor for the 7,600-square-foot expansion. For the first four permits: ■ Hutton Construction Co. Inc. of Chattanooga, Tennessee, is the contractor for the 6,534-squarefoot clinic within the Walmart Supercenter at 10991 San Jose Blvd. at a cost of $1.02 million. The city issued a permit June 29. ■ Hutton Construction is the contractor for the $1.02 million project to add a 6,510-squarefoot clinic within the Supercenter at 11900 Atlantic Blvd. The permit was issued June 10. City honors Marines, Hyatt for quarantine mission Jacksonville City Council President Tommy Hazouri, Visit Jacksonville and the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront presented a Council resolution to the U.S. Marine Corps on June 28 recognizing a mission contract that resulted in an estimated $26 million economic impact for the city. Because of the pandemic, the Marines are using the Hyatt from Jan. 10 to July 11 to quarantine recruits before they are transported to Parris Island, South Carolina, for basic training. During the six-month mission the hotel will host more than 7,000 recruits and staff and serve about 500,000 meals.
