Baptist HealthPlace is a health and wellness center planned on a 12-acre site west of Nocatee Town Center in St. Johns County.

Baptist HealthPlace announced Thursday it will open a health and wellness center at Nocatee in St. Johns County by summer 2020. The two-story, 83,000-square-foot center is planned on a 12-acre site west of the Nocatee Town Center and the Lakeside neighborhood in the masterplanned community, according to a news release. Baptist HealthPlace will offer primary care, behavioral health, orthopedics, cardiology, ENT and OB/GYN care. Plans for the facility include: n Pediatric rehabilitation provided by Wolfson Children’s Rehabilitation. n A YMCA with workout facilities, covered outdoor greenspace, family oriented programming and child care. n Baptist Primary Care and Brooks Rehabilitation will relocate their Nocatee offices to the HealthPlace. n A Healthy Living Center. sultations. n A cafe offering healthy food options. “Our vision is to create a convenient place for health and wellness that helps people get well and stay healthy,” said Brett McClung, president and CEO of Baptist Health in a news release. “We’re going to continue to listen to the voice of our consumers in Nocatee to make sure our design evolves so it meets their needs now, as well as in the future.” Plans for Baptist HealthPlace include same-day and next-day appointment availability, online appointment scheduling and extended hours on weekdays and weekends.
In addition to Baptist HealthPlace, other medical providers have been opening and announcing facilities for the Nocatee area. Last year, Flagler Health+ announced the construction of a Flagler Health Village in Nocatee. UF Health opened a family medicine and pediatrics practice there earlier this year. The owners of Durbin Park plan a second phase to create a center of activity for jobs, shopping, entertainment and housing in northern St. Johns County, as well as a site for Flagler Health+. The property is part of the 1,600-acre Durbin Park development that began with The Pavilion at Durbin Park retail center. For the second phase, Durbin Creek National LLC, led by Jacksonville-based Gate Petroleum Co., wants to rezone 1,287 acres from open rural to planned unit development on both sides of Interstate 95, from St. Johns Parkway almost to U.S. 1. About 903 acres are west of I-95 with 384 acres to the east. Durbin Creek National filed a rezoning application with St. Johns County. Durbin Park Phase 2 proposes an urban village comprising: n A 150-bed hospital n 2,258,893 square feet of office space n 1,697,130 square feet of commercial and retail space n 350 hotel rooms n 2,265 multifamily residential units The project overview says the urban village concept is different than a traditional suburban shopping center and will bring an “interactive gathering place” for residents. Ryan seeks JEA HQ plan review Ryan Companies US Inc. is requesting city review of its civil plan, or 10-set, for JEA’s proposed $72.2 million Downtown headquarters. Documents filed July 8 with the city’s Planning and Development Department show Ryan asked the city to move forward with review of the 201,470-square-foot building and 850-space parking garage at 325 W. Adams St. A 10-set is technical review of the horizontal construction aspects of a development project.
