Jacksonville-based Margo State Line Inc. signed a longterm lease for a 552,000-squarefoot warehouse distribution center in Imeson Park in North Jacksonville. “The growth profile has been great,” said Margo CFO Steve Morrill in an interview July 15.

Margo expects to move in October from 130,000 square feet of space in Alta Lakes Commerce Center, also in North Jacksonville, where it moved two years ago. The company will move about 7.5 miles to 10501 Cold Storage Road in Imeson Park, which is at northeast North Main Street and Zoo Parkway. Margo State Line, founded in 2005, imports and sells decorative pebbles, stones and rocks and other products to The Home Depot, Amazon.com, Walmart Inc., Lowe’s Companies Inc. and other retailers. The pebbles are used in landscaping and have become more in demand online and by people who are beautifying

and upgrading their homes and lawns, especially as they are quarantining during the COVID-19 pandemic. Margo State Line imports the pebbles in bulk and bags SEE MATHIS, PAGE 2

The Jacksonville 2020 Host Committee said July 16 that attendance for the Aug. 24-27 Republican National Convention in Jacksonville will be scaled back. Host committee Communications Director Erin Isaac said for the first three days, convention attendance will be limited to regular delegates. For President Donald Trump’s nomination acceptance speech Aug. 27, attendance will be limited to delegates, their guests and alternate delegates. The national Republican Party has 2,472 delegates, according to party rules. The memo said that the RNC will use indoor and outdoor venues, including VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena, TIAA Bank Field, Daily’s Place Amphitheater, 121 Financial Ballpark and several others. The memo says plans for health protocols “includes but is not limited to on-site temperature checks, available PPE, aggressive sanitizing protocols, and available COVID-19 testing.” Duval GOP Executive Director Andrew Johnson said July 16 he does not think attendance will be reduced further from the approximately 2,500 delegates party officials expect to attend the convention in Jacksonville. “I would not expect them to reduce the number of delegates,” Johnson said. “Everything is being done with purpose and there’s science behind it.” SEE RNC, PAGE 2
