In February 2020, the DIA board approved a term sheet with Spandrel to develop the former City Hall Annex and Duval County Courthouse sites at 220 E. Bay St. and 330 E. Bay St. Boyer said Aug. 9 that Spandrel sought to reduce its capital investment and the amount of retail space in its $136 million plan for the site. Spandrel also sought to change the residential component to workforce housing instead of market-rate apartments. The DIA began negotiating with

The PARC Group announced Aug. 16 that Publix Super Markets Inc., with a drive-thru pharmacy, will open in early 2023 to anchor a new shopping center in Exchange East in the eTown Village Center. It said the retail center will be developed through a joint venture with Jacksonville-based Skinner Bros. Realty. The eTown Village Center is east of Florida 9B and Interstate 295 in southern Duval County. About 48,000 square feet of space will be dedicated to a Publix grocery, Publix Liquors and the pharmacy drivethru. Additional retail space and multiple outparcels will add about 40,000 square feet to the center. Jacksonville-based PARC Group said construction is scheduled to begin in late 2021.

Duos Technologies to move Jacksonville HQ this fall Jacksonville-based Duos Technologies Group Inc. announced Aug. 12 that it signed a lease for a new building and will move in this fall, but did not specify where or how large. “We will move in by the end of October,” CEO Chuck Ferry said in a conference call with investment analysts. The company said in a news release that the building is near the company’s current headquarters at 6622 Southpoint Drive S., Suite 310, in Fortune Plaza. The city is reviewing a permit application for the company to build-out space on the first and second floors at 7660 Centurion Parkway, which is the former SuperStock building in Deerwood Park South. The site is about 4 miles east of its current office.
