The Church of Eleven22 filed plans for a $15 million expansion of its San Pablo campus — $13 million more than its $2 million build-out of the property in 2012. The church will expand into the former Hobby Lobby store next door and build a 3,000-seat worship space for its main services, said Shawn Maxwell, the church’s executive director of operations. The former Hobby Lobby space is 55,000 square feet. The church bought the property at 14286 Beach Blvd. from Sleiman Enterprises in 2017. Hobby Lobby relocated to the Town Center area the same year. The new worship space will have 1,000 additional seats to accommodate the church’s growth since it opened seven years ago. Maxwell said more than 11,000 people attend Sunday services across the five campuses. The Church of Eleven22 operates campuses in San Pablo, Arlington, Baymeadows, Mandarin and Fleming Island. Bradley Bowen Construction is the project contractor. The existing worship center will be converted into additional space SEE CHURCH, PAGE 2

Preliminary site work for Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shad Khan’s proposed $450 million Lot J development could be near. The Downtown Investment Authority board will consider a resolution Wednesday granting Lot J development company Jacksonville I-C Parcel One Holding Company LLC a limited license to access the city-owned property for environmental testing. According to the resolution, the 60-day license will allow the developers to collect groundwater and soil samples from the TIAA Bank Field parking lot, which could identify contaminants if they are present at the future construction site. The city’s risk manager, director of public works and Office of General Counsel will have to sign off on the agreement before it can be executed. Plans for the development include a 300-unit residential tower, 200-room boutique hotel, 120,000-square-foot Class A office tower and a Live! Entertainment District. The development company, a joint venture of Gecko Investments LLC and The Cordish Companies, hope to break ground in early January. Gecko Investments is an affiliate of the Jacksonville Jaguars. Bealls rebrands Regency area store as R.M. Bealls Bealls in the Regency area has converted into R.M. Bealls, a brand of the department store chain that focuses on “a consistent lower price.” Bradenton-based Bealls says two stores became R.M. Bealls – the Jacksonville store at Southside Commons and a store in Deerfield Beach. The Jacksonville store is at 860 Commerce Center Drive. To keep pricing consistent, the R.M. Bealls stores do not offer email or direct mail savings or coupons and do not accept Bealls Bucks.
