The JAX Chamber board of directors chose Memorial Hospital CEO Bradley Talbert as its 2023 chamber chair. “Brad is a trusted, respected leader who jumped in to get involved in our community as soon as he moved here,” JAX Chamber President and CEO Daniel Davis said in an Oct. 22 news release. “Brad understands that a strong, unified business community is critical to a thriving economy and he will be an Talbert excellent leader for our Chamber members.” For the past two years, Talbert has been chair of JAXUSA Partnership, the chamber’s economic development arm. The organization traditionally elects its chair more than a year in advance. As chair-elect, Talbert will lead the 2022 Leadership Trip. Ray Driver, an attorney and partner of Driver, McAfee, Hawthorne & Diebenow, is chair-elect this year and will serve as chair of the board of directors in 2022. “We’re seeing incredible interest in Jacksonville right now, and one reason is the leadership of our business community working together to promote our city and help companies grow in our community,” Talbert said in the

The company says the branding reflects its evolution as “a full-service problemtackling partner.” Jacksonville-based Darifair Foods has become Rubix Foods. Darifair announced the new name and brand identity Oct. 20. “Our size and structure allow us to solve dynamic challenges – from

research to rollout – in a smart and nimble way, pertinent for the fast-moving 21st century food world,” said CEO Andy Block in a news release. “Fittingly, we wanted a new name that was unique and ownable, that was easy to remember and that honored the legacy of the Block family founders.” The Rubix identity went live Oct. 20 and will appear on its 50,000-squarefoot corporate headquarters and innovation center expected to open in early 2022. The new headquarters in Flagler Center is about 10 miles from the company’s current base at 4131 Sunbeam Road in Mandarin, where it occupies a 13,500-square-foot office building. The company describes itself as a “culinary and food science-focused provider of flavor and functional ingredients for restaurants and food manufacturers.” It said the company has evolved beyond its dairy roots to serve businessto-business customers “in a full spectrum of food solutions.” “When Darifair was chartered in 1985,

Permit issued for Top Dawg Tavern in Bartram The city issued a permit Oct. 19 for Duncan & Duncan Management Inc. of St. Augustine to build-out space for the area’s first Top Dawg Tavern. Duncan & Duncan will build-out the space at a cost of $276,480 at 13820 St. Augustine Road, No. 417, in the Shoppes of Bartram Park. Owners said in September it would open in January. The Shoppes at Bartram Park brochure shows Top Dawg in 4,800 square feet in the Publix Super Markets-anchored center. The space previously was leased to Panera Bread, which moved into a stand-alone building.
