The grant represents 50% of the value of new county property taxes generated by the project and is payable over five years. The bill, 2020-0667, was introduced Oct. 27 and is on a two-reading cycle. It is on the full Council’s Nov. 10 agenda. The Hillman Group proposes to expand its distribution center and expand its Jacksonville workforce.

Imeson International Industrial Park Inc. intends to develop another warehouse in North Jacksonville. The St. Johns River Water Management District is reviewing plans for the Orlando-based company to develop a 377,685-squarefoot building on 28.45 acres at 9500 Busch Drive N. Imeson International Industrial Park Inc. President Dan Webb said by email Nov. 3 that there is no time frame for development. He said the structure is being designed for multitenant use but he is looking for a Webb single tenant. “We are getting the site permits so we are ready to move quickly,” he said. The site is at northeast Busch Drive and Imeson Park Boulevard. EnVision Design + Engineering LLC is the agent and civil engineer. Access Ecological Associates is the environmental consultant. Imeson International Industrial Park, at northeast Main Street and Zoo Parkway, also is the site for one of Amazon.com Inc.’s 10 announced or identified facilities. The city issued a permit Oct. 13 for Threecore LLC in Sarasota to build-out a 477,946-square-foot package delivery hub at 250 Busch Drive E. at a cost of $15 million.

WAREHOUSE TO DOUBLE IN SIZE

The Hillman Group wants to double the size of its distribution center at 3650 Port Jacksonville Parkway in NorthPoint Industrial Park to more than 190,000 square feet. Hillman distributes hardware products to more than 25,000 customers, including Lowe’s, The Home Depot, Tractor Supply, Ace Hardware, True Value and Walmart.

City Council is reviewing an incentives request for the hardware supplier to add 50 jobs and double in size. The city is reviewing a permit application for Dana B. Kenyon Co. to expand a warehouse in NorthPoint Industrial Park for Hillman Group Inc. Hillman wants to add 95,523 square feet to the warehouse, Building No. 4, that it leases at 3650 Port Jacksonville Parkway. Plans show the existing building is

96,635 square feet, which means the expansion takes it to more than 190,000 square feet. Permit documents show a foundation at a cost of $710,375 and a renovation and expansion of almost $3.3 million. Pattillo Industrial Real Estate is the property owner and developer. RS&H is the architect. City Council is reviewing a request for a five-year Recapture Enhanced Value Grant of up to $200,000 for Hillman to expand.

Veterans Day Parade winds through Downtown Nov. 11 Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the city’s annual Veterans Day Parade presented by the Law Offices of Ron Sholes will begin at 11:01 a.m. Nov. 11 on Water Street in front of the Lofts at Jefferson Station. There’s a new route this year for the parade. It will begin on Water Street, then proceed east and turn onto Laura Street, turn west down Adams Street and continue until the end of the parade route at Lee Street.
