GoPuff added a second warehouse in Jacksonville on Monday to expand its Jacksonville convenience-delivery service from the Southpoint area. It said it now serves customers in 12 ZIP codes in Southside, Arlington, Talleyrand and Downtown: 32202, 32206, 32207, 32211, 32216, 32217, 32224. 32225, 32246, 32256, 32257 and 32277. GoPuff said it started deliveries in May to some of those ZIP codes and continues to expand in the area. The digital retailer delivers convenience store products for a flat $1.95 delivery charge. It operates from noon to 4:30 a.m.

District 7 City Council member Reggie Gaffney said Tuesday he expects Winn-Dixie to open in January in the Gateway Town Center space that Publix Super Markets Inc. will vacate Dec. 28. “We are on third base ready to cross the plate on Winn-Dixie,” Gaffney said about the store in the Brentwood area of Jacksonville. Gaffney said city Office of Economic Development Executive Director Kirk Wendland is talking with Winn-Dixie about city funding available to ensure the area does not become a food desert. “The Office of Economic Development has

$30.7 million conveyor system OK’d for UPS center The city approved a permit Monday for Material Handling Systems Inc. to install an almost $30.7 million conveyor system at the United Parcel Service Inc. distribution center under development in South Jacksonville. The project is a significant step toward the package delivery company’s intention to open a $50 million Southside distribution center by the holidays of 2020. UPS is renovating the center at 9431 Florida Mining Blvd. E. to become a parcel shipping ground hub. The building formerly housed Ranbaxy Pharmaceuticals and is owned by Dubow/Shad Road Limited Partnership.
