A Mexican-Aztec inspired brewpub – Tepeyolot Cerveceria – is planned for San Marco, adjacent to the San Marco Crossing apartment development. Owner Luis Melgarejo said he expects the brewpub to open by March at Kings Avenue and Bertha Street. He is leasing the space
from TC Jax Holdings LLC. Melgarejo will serve Mexican-style lagers, as well as IPAs, stouts, ales and possibly sours. He also will have ciders and wine available. He estimates 15 to 20 taps. The food menu includes Mexican street corn, chips and guacamole or salsa, quesadillas, tacos, SEE SAN MARCO, PAGE 2

TIAA Bank dismissed retiring CEO Blake Wilson over unspecified policy violations two months after the Jacksonville-based institution announced he would leave by year-end, according an email obtained and reported Monday by Jacksonville Daily Record news partner News4Jax. The email to TIAA Bank associates from CEO Steve Fischer said Wilson is no longer employed by the bank and “the decision to dismiss Blake” had the Wilson full support of TIAA, bank management and the board of directors. “Serious matters were brought to our attention following the announcement of his retirement, and after a full investigation, it was determined that he failed to adhere to company standards of conduct, and violated personnel and other policies,” said the email addressed to “All TIAA Bank Associates.” The email said Wilson will not receive severance pay or deferred compensation. “We are extremely disappointed to have to make this announcement.
