Al Mansur, who owns four restaurant concepts, says he hasn’t decided which to open at the new location.
The owner of Al’s Pizza, Flying Iguana Taqueria & Tequila Bar, COOP 303 and Mezza Luna Ristorante has taken over the closed South Kitchen & Spirits restaurant location in South Avondale. Al Mansur, through 3638 Park Street LLC, acquired the property through a certificate of sale for a recorded price of $1.622 million. Mansur bought the 6,417-square-foot restaurant on 0.57 acres at 3638 Park St. at Park and Dancy streets, next to Restaurant Orsay. “I love the location with the proximity to St. Johns Avenue,” Mansur said Nov. 29 by email. “This location has everything going for it with plenty of parking, which is hard to find around SEE MATHIS, PAGE 2

Contractors based throughout Northeast Florida are invited to apply for inclusion in the Jacksonville Daily Record and Jacksonville Record and Observer’s inaugural Top Contractors issue scheduled for March 18. The issue will rank the top 50 contractors in the region by revenue, amounting to a valuable who’s-who guide to the industry. The 2021 Top Contractors issue will include information about the most important projects the companies started in 2020 and the most notable projects in their portfolios. It also lists the companies’ principals, specialties and total employees. The range of contractors can include a host of sectors, including general, masonry, roofing, landscape, HVAC, electrical, road, pool, plumbing and more. Contractors whose headquarters are based in the five counties of Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau and St. Johns are eligible to submit for the Top Contractors issue. William ‘Matt’ Connell appointed to JAA board Gov. Ron DeSantis appointed Total Military Management CEO William “Matt” Connell to the Jacksonville Aviation Authority board of directors Nov. 24. He replaces Frank Mackesy, whose term expired in September. Connell is a two-time Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year and volunteers his time with the Jacksonville Civic Council and Ronald McDonald House, a news release said. Total Military Management is a logistics company at 8445 Western Way. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Valdosta State University.
