The Downtown Development Review Board will consider conceptual approval Dec. 10 for a Home2 Suites by Hilton at 600 Park St. in Brooklyn. Corner Lot Development and Kelco Management and Development propose to develop the six-story, 100-room, 10,720-square-foot

hotel. It includes an outdoor amenity area and an expanded urban open space, according to the DDRB application. The hotel would sit on a 1.2-acre parcel that is a parking lot for GuideWell Inc. employees. There also will be an outdoor seating area for a restaurant in the hotel, and a 20-foot-wide linear park along

Augustine Development Group will seek final Downtown Development Review Board approval Dec. 10 for its proposed adaptive reuse of the former Independent Life Building. Plans include 135 market-rate apartments, a 21,000-squarefoot grocery store on the ground floor, a rooftop terrace with a pool and a lounge, and a sushi and seafood restaurant on the top floor. The historic 64-year-old building is at 233 W. Duval St. Downtown. There are plans for studio, oneand two-bedroom units on floors two through 16. City issues permit for The Bread & Board Downtown The city issued a permit Dec. 2 for the almost $1.34 million build-out for The Bread & Board Downtown in the VyStar Credit Union campus. The Jacksonville-based restaurant said Oct. 30 it expected to open at the 100 W. Bay St. ground-floor location during the winter, possibly late January. FLC Contracting LLC is the contractor. Thomas Duke Architect and Micamy Design Studio are the designers of the 6,046-square-foot space that was reviewed for permitting. The restaurant features baked in-house artisan breads and meats served as sandwiches, sandwich boards and bowls.
