Sixth Village Medical clinic is in review

A sixth Walgreens store in Northeast Florida will add a Village Medical primary-care clinic. The city is reviewing a building-permit application for Walgreens at 14405 Beach Blvd. in the San Pablo area to renovate its store for a 3,267-square-foot Village Medical clinic at a cost of $625,000. The store, at northeast Beach Boulevard and San Pablo Road South, is 13,737 square feet and will continue to operate a 10,470-square-foot pharmacy, plans show. Like the others, plans show eight exam rooms and a vestibule. It is one of six clinics now planned by the pharmacy chain in Jacksonville. Four have been permitted since Oct. 26. The planned and improved renovation costs now top $3.9 million. Walgreens said the clinics are ideal for patients with chronic conditions who need multiple daily prescriptions. It said the clinics accept a wide range of health insurance options and offer in-person and virtual appointments.

Rubin Companies of Jacksonville sold properties at 1639 and 1649 Atlantic Blvd. on Dec. 20 for a combined $5.65 million.

The Jacksonvillebased real estate company will move from Mandarin in late 2022 after renovations.
