et’s start with this: Amazon. com is now the area’s largest nongovernmental employer. With three large fulfillment centers and several more sortation facilities and delivery stations, the Seattle-based online retailer employs at least 16,000 people in the Jacksonville area. Big employers, including Amazon, usually drive the health and future of commercial real estate, through leasing or owning large warehouse and office space and also through creating jobs. relies on the need for property development and occupancy, the use of it for employment, and the generation of jobs and income to sustain and create demand for housing, entertainment, shopping, education, consumer needs and the drivers of economic growth. All that has influenced Duval County’s population growth to reach 1 million people and the seven-county area to stretch to almost 2 million.
