1. Guarantee: Any item found having uncatalogued damage may be returned for a refund, less shipping costs, within 20 days of auction closing date. Any item with the term “near mint,” indicating that minor flaws do exist, do not qualify for a refund. After 20 days, no refund will be given for any reason. Also, any manufacturer’s flaw that, in our opinion, does not significantly detract monetarily from the value of the item being sold will not be considered for refund. Customer satisfaction is our goal. Please call for condition reports, or visit the FOHBC. org Houston 24 Bayou City Auction page for additional photos and information before bidding on any item.
2. Absentee bidding: We are a live auction company that accepts absentee bids via telephone, email or our secure on-line Internet site. All absentee bids are executed competitively. Our online bidding program factors the bids and automatically emails outbid notices prior to this feature ending. The online bidding feature will start ending at 7:00 pm EST on Saturday starting with Lot 1, and will coincide with live bidding until the end of the auction. Please understand that a person in the audience can purchase an item for your maximum bid as we are executing all bids competitively. If you have any questions, please call before bidding!
BID INCREMENTS
$25 to $150 - $10 minimum raise
$150 to $500 - $25 minimum raise
$500 to $1,000 - $50 minimum raise
$1,000 to $2,500 - $100 minimum raise
$2,500 to $5,000 - $250 minimum raise
$5,000 and up - $500 minimum raise
Bids received less than these increments will be rounded down to the next lowest increment.
3. Terms: Bidding in this auction constitutes acceptance of each of these auction rules. A 15% Buyer’s Premium will be added to all successful bids. All bids must be secured with a Visa, MasterCard or American Express number. If you are the successful bidder on any item and wish to pay by check or money order, payment is due before receiving your item from the auction. If payment is not received, we will then charge the full amount of your purchases to your credit card. A 4% brokerage fee will be added to all credit card purchases. We gladly email an invoice to those who supply us with the proper data to do so. Otherwise, we ask that you call us on Monday, August 5, after 1:00 pm EST to get results of left bids. In the event of an error or omission, Crowded House Auction Co. shall not be held liable.
4. Sales Taxes: There will be a 8.25% sales tax in the state of Texas.
5. Payment: The Houston 24 FOHBC team will collect payment during or following the auction. All forms of payment will be accepted. Crowded House will provide a statement. That statement will be brought to the FOHBC check-out table, once paid you will be able to pick up your items.
6. Shipping: Packing and shipping with insurance is available to successful bidders via USPS or UPS. This expense will be billed to the purchaser separately and is non-refundable. If there are any questions that may arise, please do not hesitate to give us a call.

Lot #30: T.A. Cook & Co. Turf Exchange, 13 Broadway, Oklahoma City, O.T., (L.C. & R on base) Half pint strap-sided Union Oval flask. T.A. Cook owned the Turf Exchange from Sept 1902 to July 1905. On July 4, 1903 he was involved in and won a quick draw gun fight on the steps of the saloon with Kid Bannister.

If you have ever been to the Jerry & Helen Forbes mountain house in Big Sur, California, you can’t miss this interesting display of a labeled Greeley’s Bourbon Whiskey Bitters figural barrel. Log, embossed “Tippecanoe” (canoe) “H. H. Warner & Co.,” 1883-1890. Amber figural log, with large applied “mushroom” type mouth ”Pat Nov. 20. 83 Rochester N.Y.” on smooth base. Hard to find 70% label for the Tippecanoe XXX Bitters. Small surface bubble burst on shoulder. A classic medicine. Michael Seeliger collection.

Lot #47: Warner’s Safe Cure (Animal), a mammoth, quart-sized bottle embossed, “Warners Safe Cure (safe) London.” Rich amber, BIM, 1890-1900s, England. Approx. 11” tall, blob top and a deep concave oval depression on base with excellent embossing. Possibly a thin 1/8” base chip (in making most likely) otherwise in perfect condition. Lot #48: Warner’s Safe Cure Pressburg, an exceptional “attic mint” example with strong embossing not often seen with Pressburg molds. Found in Budapest in 1998 and has resided in a private collection since. Lighter shade of olive green than typical. The Warner Safe Cures Pressburg, in shades of green, are highly desirable. Lot #52: A.A. Croxton Cattle Exchange Saloon, Nacona, Tex., clear, half-pint, strap-sided Union Oval flask, air vented, slug plate, embossed “A.A. Croxton, Cattle Exchange Saloon, Nacona, Tex.” (L. C. & R embossed on base). These Texas flasks have sold on eBay for as high as $1,500. Extremely rare.

Lot #54: Senour’s Calisaya Bitters, a damaged but quite displayable example of this extremely rare bitters bottle dug by Brandon DeWolfe in 2023 in Galveston, Texas. Part of a hoard of mostly Hostetter’s Stomach Bitters bottles that had been buried upside down in several lines under a saloon on Church Street.

Lot #55: E. G. Patton & Co. Oak Cliff – Dallas, Texas
This extremely rare, cobalt blue, druggist bottle was recently found on an old dirt road in a small town outside Dallas. Bottle noted by Brad Seigler as somewhat akin to the Holy Grail of Texas colored druggist bottles, with the exception of the cobalt blue “Dog and Cat Hospital” bottle. A Houston 24 consignment.

Lot #56: B.A. Cook Sweet Revenge Galveston Texas. This slug plate pocket flask was dug by Brandon DeWolfe in 2018 on Post Office Street in Galveston, Texas. The flask is quite scarce. B.A. Cook was the only liquor dealer in Galveston to use embossed flasks.

Lot #57: F. Solyer Galveston
Tex., a nice “as dug” example of this very rare Galveston, Tx. “Schultz” closure (patented Feb. 20, 1872). Solyer was the only bottler known to have used this quite impractical closure; not even Carl Schultz (the inventor and a bottler himself) used it. Dug by Brandon DeWolfe in 2020 in a barrel privy on Church Street in Galveston.

Texas, a nice “as dug” example of this very rare Galveston, Texas Codd soda bottle. This example was dug by Brandon DeWolfe in the Post Office District in Galveston in 2022. These are the only Codd sodas from Galveston.
