Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA) is a non-governmental organization with close links to the Norwegian labour movement. NPA is involved in long-term development and humanitarian mine-action cooperation in more than 30 countries. We support civil society and local organizations in their endeavour for democracy, gender equality and equitable distribution of resources. NPA have around 70 expatriates abroad per year and around 2500 locally employed staff members. NPA is one of the leading organizations involved in humanitarian mine action. The NPA head office is located in Oslo, Norway. Since 1986, NPA has been the international organization most consistently working in Southern Sudan. NPA has mainly worked within five areas: civil society development, rural development and mine action in addition to health care and relief programmes, involving more than 1000 employees and an annual turnover of more than (NOK) 200 million.

COUNTRY DIRECTOR SUDAN STRATEGIC

A unique and challenging opportunity has arisen. We are looking for a Country Director in Sudan, to be located in Juba. The Country Director will have the overall responsibility for all aspects of Norwegian People’s Aid’s (NPA) activities in Sudan. He/she will oversee an organization of 1000 employees and be responsible for the implementation of NPA policies and programmes of civil society, rural development, mine action, health and relief in cooperation with our local partners.

CONSCIENTIOUS

You are a highly experienced upper level manager with international experience and you are familiar with the development sector. You have the ability to build relations, develop strategies and execute programmes in an international and demanding environment. Last, but not least, you are seeking new challenges and you want to make a difference.
