Science: Ancient History Over the first weekend of June, students from year 6 primary, year 2 ESO and 1st year bachillerato spent their Saturday doing Cambridge KET, PET and First Certificate exams. The results should come out online during summer, we will all be waiting with abated breath and our fingers crossed. On Monday the 2nd of June, kids from year 2, 4 and 5 did their Cambridge Young Learners Exams. They did reading & writing, listen and speaking. Here are Lorna from Cambridge and Iñigo from year 4 doing the Movers speaking exam. The kids really enjoyed the experience, some of them even said they thought it was easy, but of course, their results will tell! The examiners pointed out how extremely well behaved the groups were, especially the older kids which made us feel very proud, because we expect our students at Peñarredonda to learn more than just their their subjects, behaviour and values are just as important. Congratulations and a big thank you to all those kind teachers and parents who helped out and to those who participated.
Year 5 have just finished studying ancient history. During the unit we looked at the Celts, the Iberians and Roman times and how when Christianity became popular during the Roman times. Part of our unit, and the end of unit exam was to draw and label the parts of a Roman legionnaire. We had already met some Roman legionnaires during the English week, so we we’re a complete stranger to them. Here is one that Borja drew, and the other in a completely different style by Santiago.
