ABOUT I am a creative, curious and determined student, constantly researching challenging references, concepts and critical thoughts to improve myself and to inspire my work. I believe in a design that starts from previous experiences and theories and that develops by conceptual metaphors and formal or technological experimentations. My aim is to create buildings and environments that can work, inspiring people and changing community.

The project comes from the analysis of human behavioral aspects and the relationship between the space of worship and the socialization one. The task is to rethink the San Pio X Parish church complex, located in Città Studi district of Milan. The wide pedestrian paths and the adjacent “Piazza Leonardo” are places in which people interact with each other, move in all directions and thus make active space. For us, it’s important that the visitor grasp the different features of the parts of the complex, so we arranged functions and their paths on different levels. The spaces are divided into public, sacred, and semi-public, while the visual connection between them is encouraged also thanks to the voids in the built volume. View from Piazza Leonardo, author: L. The access to sacred space is a topic with a long and strong tradition in history that can be found in other urban churches near the project area. While the churches often overlook the street, we decided to start the main entrance path from a pedestrian area and scanned it through the alternation of different heights. Site Plan Diagram

01 SOCIALIZATION
02 SILENCE
The project is located in a university area. The noise is one of the features of this urban district and it defines the outer finish.
The goal is to create a place of silence that recall the shape of the Milanese courts. This is the third space between socialization and worship ones.
03 INTERFERENCE
04 CHURCH IDENTITY
Bridges are links that makes the flows of people inside the parvis. Sloping corten walls indicate the entrances.
A ring complex, which has only a heigh difference in the part of the church, creates a meeting place and a reference point for the city.

INTERIOR DESIGN STUDIO IN BACHELOR OF SCIENCE PROGRAM OF POLITECNICO DI MILANO, 3rd ACADEMIC YEAR Prof. Arnaldo Arnaldi arnaldo.arnaldi@polimi.it
Prof. Gian Luca B. Peressut luca.bassoperessut@polimi.it
Starting from an abandoned frame located south of Milan outskirt, the aim of the project was to combine context suggestions and needs for a new use of space. The existing building was a former railway station, its large dimensions and location have allowed me to experience new interior space configurations and to improve visual contacts with the surrounding context. The project is designed to host Adobe System, a company that produces software for digital image, video and sound processing. Thus, the first topic I deal with is the most recent working condition in smart offices of the new economy companies. Additional architectural elements are obtained from a metaphorical reading of Adobe’s identity features. In fact, each floor is completely redesigned and distinguished through colors, scenes, thematic references, and ancillary and innovative functions. Although the task concerns the interior of a given structure, the designed elements preserve an architectural value, they define a measure and a proportion between different spaces. The data center is the core of each information technology company which needs to collect its data on secure servers. Contrary to the common placement, this room is not hidden on the lower floors but it is a well visible big black parallelepiped in the middle of the building. In this way the Data Center attracts and restless, recalling the black monolith of 2001: A Space Odyssey by Stanley Kubrick.

Prof. Luisa Ferro luisa.ferro@polimi.it
The project involves a historically significant area in the urban development of Como in Italy. Originally used as access to urban space, the infrastructure axis, including Via Sauro and Via Lecco, is one of the most obvious examples of how the historical wall established a physical and ideal separation between different architectural and constructive attitudes within urban expansion projects. We preliminarily decided to reshape two existing structures no longer dimensionally and functionally suitable. The existing Mariani sports field and a part of the elementary school building are removed to leave room for two new public school-related facilities. A new central volume consists of flexible spaces that can be used as a public market and delimit an internal path adjacent to the historical wall. In this path, a sloping concrete roof seems to join the wall height to the market building, while thin columns repeated in the project recall the proportional strictness found in the existing urban context.

REFERENCES FROM THE PAST: Shape and size of the project area are both the result of the urban infrastructure axis and the particular formal features of the wall. The whole project aims to establish a dialogue with the city, from the geometry of the urban fabric to the orographic features, and by highlighting the prominent historical elements of Como such as the towers and walls surrounding the old town.

ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN STUDIO 2 IN BACHELOR OF SCIENCE PROGRAM OF POLITECNICO DI MILANO, 2nd ACADEMIC YEAR Prof. Marco Bovati marco.bovati@polimi.it
Prof. Michele Paleari michele.paleari@polimi.it Prof. Aldo F. Ghisi aldo.ghisi@polimi.it
Located within the urban fabric of Milan, the project aims to reconstruct the compact residential urban block and redefine the wide courtyard role in the city. The new volume aligns to the height and depth of the adjacent buildings and includes an underground auditorium entry, a restaurant, and upper floor houses. Removing the existing Cinema Luce building leaves an outdoor space larger than the nearby urban courts, so I thought to develop a public garden connected with the other public functions. Starting from a compact volume, portions are subtracted to create loggias and accesses according to the internal paths. Instead, the double tilt of the roof is the formal and conceptual consequence of a volume subtraction on the north elevation which leaves the openings of the adjacent building free. The challenge was to create a balance between the compactness of the building that divides the exterior and interior and the permeability required by the courtyard.
