TESTIMONIES SHARING BY SMALL GROUP MEMBERS
Lynette Ong
1. Which small group are you a part of, and how long have you participated?
Irene invited me to join Joyce’s small group while we were ushering on Sunday. I have been with this small group since 2013.
2. What motivated you to join a small group?
I feel blessed to be part of this group, which interacts considerately with one another. We make a point to remember each other in prayers. Though likeminded in our approach to studying the Bible, each of us brings different angles and experiences. Hearing from different perspectives helps me understand God’s word better.
3. Do you have any stories or experiences you would like to share?
Over the years, we have shared our joys, struggles, and prayers together. Currently, our meetings take place either via Zoom or in person. My small group has also stayed connected through hybrid meetings. My group members always offer me encouragement and good advice whenever I face challenges in my daily walk with God. I feel supported by their prayers for me.
4. What message would you like to share with our brothers and sisters who have not yet joined a small group?
Personally, I find it rewarding that God is pleased to see His children gathering together to pray, study His word, and share meals. I feel blessed and inspired by Ephesians 4:15 to continue to be part of a small group. Speaking the truth in love, we will grow in every respect the mature body of Him who is head that is Christ. (Eph 4:15)

1. Which small group are you a part of, and how long have you participated?
I have been part of Ronnie's small group since 2015.
2. What motivated you to join a small group?
Initially, I wanted to join a small group to learn about fellow brothers' and sisters' interpretations of God's words. Over the years journeying with my SG members, we have grown closer and are able to share personal thoughts and challenges in the workplace, raising of children and other real-life issues.

3. Do you have any stories or experiences you would like to share?
We always agree on what bible study guide to use so that we have a chance to choose which book of the bible we would like to focus on. In 2021, we decided to experiment with taking turns to co-lead with Ronnie. By coleading, each of the small group members learns not to rely just on our leader to prepare or share but also to do their own research and sharing. In recent years, we were guided by FMC to tap into the bible texts shared at the pulpit by our pastors. It has helped deepen my understanding of God's words with group-led discussions.
In Nov 2021, my husband, Amos, and I were admitted to the hospital due to COVID-19 when my children were doing their "O" level papers. My entire small group prayed earnestly for our recovery and my children's exams. They each sent encouraging messages and called me during my admission at the hospital. They even offered to help with groceries and food arrangements. They were also very concerned about my children's transport arrangements to go for exams. Until now, our family members are still very touched by their care and concern.
4. What message would you like to share with our brothers and sisters who have not yet joined a small group?
If you believe that our God is the true God and he will answer prayers, what is stopping you from joining one?
“Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.” (Matt 18:19-20)
Karen Thing
1. Which small group are you a part of?
Many years ago, I was part of a small group that met in my house. As a new believer, it was a good time to learn God's word and know more of our FMC members. Due to work commitments, it eventually disbanded. But God led me to Li Chang’s small group eventually.
2. What motivated you to join a small group?
After the disbandment of the small group, I have the desire to join another small group and have been asking around to join one. Dr Cheng (Li Chang) invited me to join his small group, but I didn’t, as I felt inadequate and was concerned that I could not meet their standards of bible knowledge.

3. Do you have any stories or experiences you would like to share? When Dr Cheng approached me again, l was happy as l know Lena and Susan. I also get to know Hwai Ling in the small group. I am very grateful to Dr Cheng and his wife Angeline for their immense sharing of his knowledge, hospitality and their patience with me too.
4. What message would you like to share with our brothers and sisters who have not yet joined a small group?
Small group is where we can bond, pray, share, and give thanks to our Almighty God for all our ups and downs in life. Come and taste the Lord’s goodness through small groups!

经文 Scripture: Hebrews 10:19-25
Discussion Questions
1. How does understanding the journey of faith as a communal experience, as described in Hebrews 10:19-25, change your perspective on your personal faith journey?
2. The sermon mentioned challenges, such as weariness and doubt in one's faith journey. Can you share a time when you faced such challenges and how someone in the community helped you through it?
3.
Reflect on the three "we have" exhortations concerning your faith journey. Which of these are most needed for you? How can you encourage faltering Christians?
