SERMON NOTES
经文 Scripture: Jonah 2; Luke 2:26-38
Discussion Questions
1. Read 1 Samuel 15:22. Why do you think God values man’s obedience more than his sacrifices? In your Christian walk, what are some challenges you faced in obeying God? How can the experience of Jonah help you in dealing with your challenges?
2. Luke 2:29 – 32 records Simeon’s pronouncement when he took the baby Jesus in his arms, which has become known and sung as the Nunc Dimittis. In what way is God’s charity revealed in Simeon’s song?
3. How is Jonah 1:2 similar and different from Matthew 28:18 – 20? You may wish to consider this from the perspectives of their respective context; call and challenges. In the world we live in today, how can we better help others embrace the Reason for the Christmas Season?
