The Highland Spring Group is the United Kingdom’s largest supplier of bottled water, employing over 400 staff. Filling up to 350 million litres a year, its portfolio includes Highland Spring, Speyside Glenlivet, Gleneagles and Green Valley. It also bottles private label waters for some of the major UK supermarkets and foodservice retailers.
The company oversees five rural production plants and was the first UK bottled water company to be awarded organic status for its land on Perthshire’s Ochil Hills in 2001. One of Europe’s most modern plants, the Blackford site has four state of the art bottling lines for glass, PET and multipacks across a range of still and sparkling sizes.
The tour will include an introduction to Highland Spring’s pioneering management information system.
Delegates will then be taken to visit the nearby Tullibardine distillery, including a malt whisky tasting. Located on the site of Scotland’s oldest brewery dating back to the 12th century, Tullibardine was developed as a traditional distiller in 1949.

2010 GLOBAL BOTTLED WATER CONGRESS About the venue United Kingdom bottled water consumption has grown rapidly to more than 2,000 million litres in 2009 and the market is now one of the world’s top ten by value. A relatively high proportion of 22% is imported. Sales dipped in the past two years but started to regain momentum in 2009. Scotland, part of the United Kingdom, was once dominated by heavy industry, but financial services and tourism now contribute most to the country’s economy, with the capital city of Edinburgh counted among Europe’s largest financial centres. The Gleneagles Hotel is renowned as one of the best Five Star resorts in the world and hosted the 2005 G8 summit. Set in 850 acres of breathtaking Perthshire countryside at the foot of the Highlands, the hotel is home to three top Scottish Championship golf courses. The hotel also offers guests a luxury gym and spa, two swimming pools and four restaurants, including the two Michelinstarred Andrew Fairlie @ Gleneagles. Gleneagles is on the main London to Inverness railway line and under one hour’s drive from both Edinburgh and Glasgow international airports. An allocation of rooms at agreed rates is available for delegates attending the Global Bottled Water Congress. For more information, please visit www.zenithinternational.com/events.
