WHITE FENCE FARM, 1376 Joliet Rd. ROMEOVILLE, Ill • 630-7839892. This establishment has several dining rooms and has been around since 1954 and boasts “The World’s Greatest Chicken.” Food is served family-style, and you’ll get plenty of starters to go along with your fried chicken. They range from coleslaw, kidney bean salad, cottage cheese and their famous corn fritters topped with powdered sugar–which were my favorite! You can ask for seconds of any of your starters, but be sure to save room for the star of the show–the chicken! It comes stacked on a plate, all crispy and hot. This is very good fried chicken! When you’re done with your meal, be sure to walk around and enjoy their collections of antiques, car museum and petting zoo.
EARL’S KITCHEN + BAR 1538 N. Clybourn Ave. CHICAGO, Ill; 312929-3952. They are located in the New City complex. The bar area was extremely busy the day I was there. We started off with some margaritas and ordered a variety of appetizers—jumbo crab cakes with remoulade, lobster and shrimp ravioli with the lobster cream sauce, the tuna poke bowl and the ahi tuna tartar tower with yuzu vinaigrette. This was a nice sampling of their menu. And, for dessert I tried the Key Lime pie with whipped cream.
JT’S CORNER TAP & EATERY, 1022 Fountain View Dr, CAROL STREAM, Ill; 331-218-4090. This fun little suburban bar & grill is a place where you can sit, relax, have a brew and watch the game on one of their many large screen TV setups. I felt like a burger, so I ordered a Big Bleu (with bleu cheese and grilled onions). They give you quite a sizable burger here. Sides are extra, but I wanted fries, so I added them to my meal. I was not disappointed; everything was good.
CHICAGO FISH AND CHICKEN, 333 Schmale Rd. CAROL STREAM, Ill 630456-4513. This place serves breaded and fried chicken for dine-in and for pick-up. They also have tenders, wings and a generous offering of appetizers. Since I was sharing, I decided to pick-up an 8 piece mix of chicken with one side. My side order was coleslaw; it was fresh and tasty. The chicken was cooked to order, hot and ready with my choice of sauce (hot or mild). It was enjoyable. I will be back.
SALSA STREET MEXICAN RESTAURANT & CANTINA, 211 Randhurst Village Dr. MOUNT PROSPECT, Ill • 847-749-1801. I loved this place. The space was spacious and cheerful. On the menu they offer Mexican Street food. Their guacamole was creamy and delicious. For my entrée I tried a couple of the Mexican Street Tacos–the Citrus marinated steak and the Al Pastor which was marinated pork with pineapple and mango salsa. This was very good and the flavors were incredible. For dessert we ordered the Mexican Flan. This is definitely a place to check out.
PONTIAC FAMILY KITCHEN, 904 W. Custer Ave. PONTIAC, Ill; 815844-3155 This old time coffee shop and family restaurant keeps the coffee cup full and the food served hot. I had the Denver Omelet, and they even buttered my toast! The server was friendly and said she'd been working there for more than 20 years. It was quite obvious that they had a lot of regulars dining there. I can see why. The food, service and atmosphere were great. It's conveniently located just east of I-55.

GIGIO’S PIZZERIA, 1603 E. Oakton St. DES PLAINES, Ill; 847-2985700. This is a cute place. You can dine in, have a delivery or pick up. The staff that waited on me was lovely. They have salads, regular crust pizza, pan pizza, pizza slices, salads, sandwiches and so much more. I picked up some pizza slices; cheese, sausage and veggie. The crust was light and there was just the right amount of toppings on each one. Plus, I ordered the Mama Nitti’s Italian beef sandwich with giardiniera; it was excellent!

Websites are extremely important marketing tools for any business that wants to be taken seriously, attract customers, and increase sales. They are often the first introduction a prospective customer has to your company. According to Robert Damien, the owner of Fat Cat Design & Marketing, “You spend a great deal of time, and money, to create quality content, which includes much thought and careful keyword analysis, why, however, are so many websites riddled with punctuation, spelling, and syntax Thisandsional,nessceivereader,tunatewebsiteimportancesizerantsManyerrors?”businesses—restau-included—failtoempha-orevenrealizethesheerofmistake-freecontent.Thisisunfor-forseveralreasons.Theorprospect,mayper-thisgrammaticalsloppi-ascarelessandunprofes-andmayleaveyoursitemoveontoacompetitor’s.isnotgoodforabusiness.
Your website is a reflection of you, your vision, your mission, your services, your promises to your current and would-be customers—how can a prospective client take you seriously if you mistake “there” for “their,” fail to insert commas and semicolons when necessary, and refuse to utilize appropriate words? Error-free content enhances credibility and reflects favorably upon you and your business. It is as important as the message you are trying to convey. This is precisely why you should have your website proofread by a professional editor, whether or not it has been made live. After all, perfection is bliss, and can lead to an exponential increase in sales.

Hourly employees want more time and flex ibility in their daily lives. Even if you can’t give employees the ability to work from home, you can still save them time and money. Health insurance and voluntary benefits are typi cally something hourly employees of small businesses could only dream of having, but now you can make those dreams come true. Providing your employees with Fortune 500 health plans and benaefits packages is key to attracting and retaining top talent. Choose HR solutions that best fit your company’s needs. An HR company’s affordable solutions will save your company time and money and help attract new hires. Health and voluntary benefit packages are extra perks that allow for more personalization that can help satisfy the unique needs of each worker, especially in today’s multigenerational workforce. Many come at little to no cost for your business. The voluntary benefits market has been expanding steadily over the years and will continue to grow in 2022. Dental and vision care continue to be standard voluntary benefits, but as inflation continues to impact workplaces and personal lives, nontraditional offerings like critical illness, hospital indemnity, pet in surance, identity theft and group legal are becoming popular. One of the best perks of voluntary benefits is that they are, in fact, optional, so employees can opt for the coverage that matters most to them. Since employees often face unique stressors or chal lenges, employers can partner with an HR company to offer a wide array of benefits and services to support their workforces without stretching their own resources.

The pandemic has undoubtedly increased employee stress, de pression and anxiety. As a result, many employees need more mental health support than before the pandemic. On the other hand, employ ees may have put off preventive care or other health care services during the pandemic. One way to combat those issues is to help make remote health services more accessible and affordable. To ensure employees receive necessary physical and mental health support, telemedicine or remote health services can help increase accessibil ity to resources and treatment; they have proven to be a valuable and cost-effective way to receive medical care from the comfort of home. As such, telemedicine is quickly proving to be a game-changer, and employers will want to consider adopting or expanding their cur rent offerings to accommodate it.

But some things remain the same as Two Brothers Brewing Company approaches its 25th Anniversary. Just like those early days, Two Brothers remains 100% family owned, independent, and committed to their values and their community. They continue to create high-quality, diverse, well designed products that push the boundaries of innovation. “My brother and I still get excited about coming up with new products and seeing them come to life,” said Ebel. “Of course the best part is when they are ready to enjoy with friends and family. ” With that in mind, Two Brothers will commemorate its 25th Anniversary with what it does best: release new products, rerelease a few beers from the past, and throw a big party to celebrate.
In celebration of 25 years of beers, Two Brothers Artisan Brewing is releasing a 25th Anniversary Mixed 12-Pack. This exciting package will feature a new 25th Anniversary Double IPA (9.6% ABV) that showcases Two Brothers innovation and creativity. Five different hops are used throughout each step of the brewing process, while a proprietary new yeast is added that unlocks and boosts all the fruity aromas. The end result is a well-balanced, flavor-forward Double IPA that perfectly encapsulates Two Brothers 25 years of brewing. The 25th Anniversary Mixed 12-Pack will also include three returning favorites from Two Brothers 25-year-history. Both Jim and Jason each picked one of their favorite beers to bring back and their fans got involved to choose the third through an online vote earlier in the year. Local Chicago artist, Matt Pennetti, designed a fun and creative design for the 25th Anniversary can and 12-pack box.
A lot has changed since 1996, when brothers Jim and Jason Ebel decided to follow their passion and do something very few people in the country had tried. They opened a craft brewery. Now, 25 years later, that two-man passion project has grown into a lifestyle brand that includes craft beer, specialty coffee, handcrafted spirits and artisan restaurants.Along the way came hundreds of beers and almost as many awards that helped shaped the Chicago craft beer scene into what it has become. “It’s amazing to see how far the craft beer segment has come since we started Two Brothers,” said Two Brothers co-founder, Jason Ebel. “There were just a handful of breweries in the Midwest. Now the Chicagoland area has a huge, vibrant, craft beer scene that rivals anywhere in the world.”
While Two Brothers Artisan Brewing is achieving its 25th Anniversary, Two Brothers Artisan Spirits is approaching an important milestone as well. Since its launch in 2017, Two Brothers Artisan Spirits has been aging hundreds of barrels of spirits in their distillery in Aurora. Recently, some of these products are ready to be bottled and enjoyed. Last year saw the release of Two Bothers Roundhouse Small Batch Bourbon, a blend of just a couple barrels. Two Brothers just bottled their 8th small batch, which sells out quicker each time it is released.

The Chicago restaurant group brings popular restaurant concepts urbanbelly, Chef Bill Kim’s Ramen Bar, Latin-inspired fare from Chef John Manion and more to West Lafayette to kick-off the spring
“We were blown away by the enthusiasm from the students in the class and the reception Urbanbelly received from the rest of the campus,” says McGowan, “the class project showed us that a concept like this would work and exceed our expectations.”
“We’re thrilled to partner with Aramark to bring our concepts to Purdue, where we’ve chosen various restaurant concepts that we believe will be popular among their student population,”
Cornerstone’s arrival to Purdue has been years in the making and connections between the groups first started as an experiential learning course on Purdue’s campus. Four years ago, Purdue students were tasked with implementing an Urbanbelly pop-up as a course project. The students ran and marketed the pop-up and it served as a test run for the partnership that has now arrived on campus.

A team of scientists at the University of Naples Federico II has developed a method for producing a yeast-free pizza dough by preparing a dough with just flour, water and salt, placing it into an autoclave, pumping in gas and letting it cook at high pressure and temperature. Despite the team’s success, challenges remain in maintaining taste and obtaining the large autoclaves necessary to create a dough large enough for a traditional pizza.

The Illinois Product Expo has brought Illinois food companies and consumers together for 23 years in Springfield, Illinois for the past 23 years, giving attendees the opportunities to explore Illi nois through their taste buds. This year’s event includes an indoor wine garden featuring 15 Illinois wineries and nearly 50, family owned Illinois food producers. The event is held annually in March, at the Orr Building in Springfield Illinois at the State Fairgrounds.
Illinois Food Expo 2022
The most significant casualty of today’s tight labor market in foodservice and hospitality is its effect on routine backof-house cleaning and sanitation, historically performed as “side work” by kitchen or bus staff. As a result, restaurant operators in all categories may forego nightly cleaning in these critical areas rather than further burden often over worked employees.
As the arrival of Spring and pent-up customer demand hopefully translates to increased volume, there’s an emerg ing trend among chefs and operators – who insist on main taining strict kitchen sanitation protocols – of outsourcing their cleaning needs to professional, quality, third-party companies.

A kitchen’s image is an extension of its brand, and consumer confidence in a restaurant organization isn’t just driven by the quality of the product or the efficiency of the service –the cleanliness, safety, and comfort of the back-of-house and customer-facing areas best conveys the message to staff, customers, and stakeholders that they’re valued.
Elston Ave. Chicago,

Given the state of the industry during the last two years, operators now have a greater appreciation and understanding that preserving this image requires a cleaning provider with deep resources, and experience in delivering robust sanitation services designed to deliver safety, value, and appearance enhancements at regular, rotating intervals. North America’s First Rotating Waterslide at Mt. Olympus Water & Theme Park. This summer, Mt. Olympus Water & Theme Park Resort will open Medusa’s Slidewheel, America’s first rotating waterslide. Combining the movement of a Ferris wheel with the speed of a waterslide, it is set on a horizontal axis, rotating as guests slide through it. Medusa’s Slidewheel is the centerpiece of the expanded indoor waterpark at the resort; the 22,500-square-foot addition will include a new children’s splash zone with fountains and a variety of interactive water features and swimming area.
A new natural adventure park development called The Land of Natura is planned to open their first phase in the summer of 2022. This 40acre parcel will include a 5-acre naturally-filtered lake with America’s largest floating waterpark and North America’s longest canopy tour. More than 10 miles of hiking and biking trails through the woods, river beach access and kayak rentals, a greenhouse welcome center, and food trucks serving locally sourced specialties are also included in this initial phase. The full development is expected to take between three and fi ve years to complete at an estimated total cost of $60 million and will span over 150 Downtownacres.Wisconsin Dells will soon boast a new gathering spot, with the addition of the 35,000-square-foot Elm Street Plaza set to open in late summer. It will feature a covered stage area, special lighting and sound systems, concession stands, seating, Wi-Fi and a mural wall. There will also be interactive water features, including a 6-foot Kugel ball, dancing fountains and in-ground geysers.Downtown Wisconsin Dells will welcome Yeti Yard Next Level Adventure Park later this summer. The park will feature the Himalayan Speedway, complete with a 640-foot elevated racetrack for gocarting. An 18-hole, all turf mini-golf course will complete the Yeti Yard on ground level.

The “Waterpark Capital of the World!” will further enhance its reputation in 2022, with several significant new waterpark features set to open, including North America’s first rotating waterslide. A variety of new non-waterpark attractions will also debut in Wisconsin Dell.s this year, ranging from dining, brewing and e`ntertainment establishments to a 35,000-square-foot public plaza, which can host concerts, farmers markets, seasonal celebrations and other events.
A converted 1909 mansion in downtown Dells is now home to Latte Stone Brewing Co., a smallbatch, nano brewpub. Latte Stone features a tasting room-style bar serving crafted-in-house brews and local craft beers, as well as local and international wines. It also offers a unique Pacifi c Island tapas

Dueling Waterslides at Wilderness Resort. In fall 2022, the indoor Wild West Waterpark at the Wilderness Resort will open two new “dueling” waterslides—a two-lane tube ride and a two-lane headfirst mat racer. Each will feature multiple rally points where riders can see their competition as they dash down the slides, as well as translucent slide effects. The Wild West Waterpark is also getting a new themed multi-level play-and-spray structure, while the resort is completing a renovation of all 446 guest rooms.
