Brief: Store Cupboard Cookery Look in your food cupboard and fridge at home, make a list of all of the ingredients and design a recipe which uses these ingredients to make a main course dish for 4 people.
Task 1
RESEARCH A SUITABLE RECIPE
Show the recipe for your dish which includes an ingredients list, an equipment list and the method for making.
Task 2
PREPARATION AND COOKING
Make the dish and show labelled photos or drawn pictures/diagrams of each stage of preparation, cooking and also of the finished dish.
Task 3
HYGIENE AND SAFETY
Give the hygiene and safety instructions for each stage of the preparation and cooking process.
Task 4
EVALUATION
Complete an extended piece of writing which gives an evaluation of your dish (see level descriptors for literacy attached). Ask your family to give feedback on the appearance, texture and flavour, analyse the results with pie or bar charts and give a final conclusion with suggestions for improvement. Extension Task Make a starter or dessert to go with your main course dish.
