4 Baseball Pitching Drills For Little League Players Coaching, education and developing young baseball pitchers has a large amount of time, endurance, and practice repetition. Many young pitchers must practice pitching skills daily. To keep the interest level large, it's best to use a variety of drills on alternate days to prevent boredom. Here are 4 baseball pitching drills which can be used to train youth and beginner pitchers. Drill #1 - Up & Out Foot Routine Target - to assist pitchers perfect the correct back leg action. The goal of this punch would be to stop base drag and prevent over striding. Equipment Needed - A stone, block or timber or other suitable target. The thing will be located in a location just facing the pivot foot of the pitcher. The pitcher will be working out of the stretch. The pitcher should be reminded to roll and decide his back foot up such that it opens the object.

Treatment - The pitcher throws using his normal action and shipping. When the pitcher doesn't clear the item, then his back foot is "dragging" or he's over striding. Young pitchers must be coached to step out of the "store" and up and over the block. Drill #2 - Dot Spot Drill Target - The purpose of this exercise is to build confidence, to teach young pitchers going to their places also to educate young pitchers to possess great control. Equipment Needed - Good balls, Capturing equipment, and glove. Method - The catcher has 4 dots on his gear. The 4 dots or locations are very different colors or both possess a number on them. The spots are taped to each knee on the leg pads and one towards the left
