A F E W WO R D S F R O M T H E A R T I S T I C D I R E C TO R As I sit down to write my “Few Words” on ANNIE GET YOUR GUN, I wonder what I can say that hasn’t already been said about this wonderful show. I actually feel more compelled to look back and give thanks for our 2013 season, and for all the artists who made it possible. Starting with a very pretty PINAFORE, continuing with an acclaimed, rewarding CABARET and a glamorous Gershwin concert, the year now comes to a close with an old-fashioned, feel-good favorite, ANNIE GET YOUR GUN. I find that these classics from the Golden Age of Broadway bring back so many joyous and sometimes unexpected memories; I’m reminded that the last time I worked on this show was as an Indian dancer in 1974. I’m sure many of you have your own ANNIE GET YOUR GUN memories, which may or may not involve dancing in a loincloth! Here’s a holiday toast to all the artists, past and present, whose work made this season such a joy: to the composers, lyricists and playwrights who inspire us, and the performers, musicians and designers whose talent bring their work to life. I am grateful to all of them, and look forward to an exciting new year spent in their company. Happy Holidays!
