BIOS Richard Cotovsky (Arthur) is a founding member of MaryArrchie Theatre Co. He has performed in The Homecoming, Buried Child (Jeff Nomination), Mud People, Beyond Mozambique, The Caretaker, Curse of the Starving Class, 4-H Club, and The Pawnbroker among many others at Mary-Arrchie. He has a long history with Superior Donuts. He participated in the workshopping of the script. He understudied Michael McKean at Steppenwolf in the part of Arthur. He performed the part of Arthur at Studio Theater in Washington, D.C. He has worked with other theaters including Remains, Latino Chicago, Strawdog, American Blues, igloo, Americana, 2 Mary-Arrchie Theatre Co.

Blackbird, Prop and Famous Door. He has been seen in movies and TV including Janie Jones, The Ride, Chicago Code, and Turks. Dereck Garner (Kevin) Dereck Garner is a proud company member of Mary-Arrchie. He has previously been seen on stage in the MaryArrchie productions of Mud People, gas mask 101, Rover from Dover, The Homecoming, Cherrywood, and most recently Red Light Winter. Recent projects also include the featured role in the international film Camino / Destino from Guatemalan film company GuatGuy Producciones premiering this spring. Love you Meg.


B I O S ( c o n t .) Millie Hurley (Randy) is thrilled to make her debut with Mary-Arrchie. She was last seen as Gram/Mrs. Partridge in Adventure Stage’ s Walk Two Moons, Agnes in A Delicate Balance and Lettice (Jeff Nomination for Principle Actress) in Lettice and Lovage at Redtwist Theater. Millie played Mrs. Ruddle in Lifeline’ s production of Busman’ s Honeymoon and Constance in Lillian Hellman’ s Autumn Garden at Eclipse Theatre. At Raven Theatre, her role as Maggie in “Dancing at Lughnasa” garnered her a Jeff Citation for Best Supporting Actress and an After Dark Award. Millie is an artistic associate of Erasing the Distance Theatre Company and pursues voice over, commercial and film work. Love to Chuck who keeps me going! Bryan Kelly (Kiril) This play has donuts. He’s 300 lbs. Bryan could not be happier to be in this show. You may have seen him in Stanger Than Fiction, The Beast, Detroit 187 or the Chicago Code. He would like to thank Tomas, for the Russian. He is proud to be an expecting father and is completely in love with his fiance Amy. Susan MontsBologna (Lady) Susan is so excited to be working at Mary Arrchie and cannot thank Matt and Richard enough. She has recently returned to Chicago where she had studied with Del Close at Second City and did her Master’ s work at The Goodman School of Drama (Acting) - which is now The Theatre School at De Paul. This was followed by a year at The Milwaukee Rep with John Dillon, doing two world premiers (Friends and Custer) and working with Barry Boys and Sandy Robbins; fifteen years in New York where she did film (Mademoiselle and The Prowler), several years on Search for Tomorrow (Prof Aja Doyan), Bdway,

Off-Bdway, numerous other stage works and commercials. Though back barely two years she has had the good fortune to work with such theatres as A Red Orchid (Becky Shaw), Eclipse (One Flea Spare, After The Fall), TimeLine (When She Danced u/s), Rendition (Echoes of the War) and Northlight; and directors: Damon Kiely, Steve Scott, Nick Bowling, Anish Jethmalani, Amy Morton and Tim Curtis. She recently finished shooting an episode of Chicago Code which aired on FOX in February of this year and is currently teaching at Act One Studios. Gray Talent Group rocks!!! Karl Potthoff (Luther) Mr. Potthoff is a Mary-Arrchie company member, and has appeared here in Beggars in the House of Plenty, A Prayer For My Daughter, Killers, and Buried Child, amongst others. He has also appeared on the stages of Shattered Globe, the Den, Red Twist and City Lit Theatres. He is the proud father of a Schnauzer named Sally and husband to the lovely Susan. Paige Smith (Max) Paige is very excited to make his debut at Mary Arrchie! Paige is an ensemble member with XIII Pocket and has performed in several of their productions including Cash, Why We Come Here, and Adore, part of the Steppenwolf Theater Visiting Company Initiative. He was recently in three successful runs of Laura Jacqmin’ s Dental Society Midwinter Meeting, as well as her piece, Brother, at ATC’ s Ten by Ten Festival. He has a BA in theater arts from Kansas State University and has worked onstage locally with; Chicago Shakespeare Theater, Mid-Tangent Productions, City-Lit Theater, Collaboraction’ s Sketchbook One, Around the Coyote, and has also had the privilege of acting and writing for eight plus years in Chicago’ s own Cool Table, an award winning sketch comedy pack that has

Bradford Stevens (James) Bradford Stevens is crazy excited to be doing this fantastic play with the Mary Arrchie Theater. A native Chicagoan Bradford earned his MFA in acting from the DePaul theatre school and has had the opportunity to work with a number of great theaters throughout the city. He is a proud member of the Barrel of Monkeys Theatre Troupe, and is currently playing Martin Luther King with Historical Perspectives. Bradford would like to thank his fantastic cast and crew for all their hard work, his boy Bill Mack for his insights on being a police officer, and his loving family for all their love and support.” Special thanks to Officer Brian Coash for his insights. Preston Tate, Jr (Franco) Preston Tate Jr. is a young but experienced actor. He has been in the industry for several years working in the area of TV, Film and Theater. Preston loves to play characters that make the viewer focus in on him so they will laugh at, think of or feel emotions strong enough to remember that character. When he is not acting he spends some of his time supporting his fellow actors and peers in their projects or professions which span from acting to music and comedy. He has always gravitated towards fun, energetic, optimistic people because as it’ s said Birds of a feather, flock together. To capture his attention, start strumming a guitar, mention The Rock or challenge him to a game of Air Hockey and you might have a new friend. Alison Barnes (Assistant Stage Manager) is a Jack of all Trades and is pleased to be working backstage at Mary Archie for the first time. Other Backstage credits include 4 Mary-Arrchie Theatre Co.

Alison holds a B.A. in Theatre Arts from Catawba College. Joe Court (Sound Designer) is a company member with Mary-Arrchie. Past designs include Riff Raff, The Homecoming, Our Bad Magnet, and The Caretaker. He serves as Sound Engineer for the Chicago production of the Tony Award winning musical Million Dollar Quartet. . He has designed for A Red Orchid Theatre (Jeff Nomination for the Unseen), Theatre Seven, Emerald City, Seanachai, Lifeline, Pine Box, The Inconvenience, Gift, Backstage, The Illinois Shakespeare Festival, and The Clarence Brown Theatre (Knoxville, TN.) Andrew C. Donnelly (Stage Manager) Andrew is pleased to be working for Mary-Arrchie again, mostly because of the free donuts. He hails from Amarillo, Texas and stole a B.A. in Technical Theatre from West Texas A&M University. Matthew Gawryk (Lighting Designer) Primarily a lighting designer, Matthew has also danced for cash and glory as a scenic designer, electrician, and producer for theater, dance, and music. He graduated Kindergarten at Hamilton Air Force Base in California, having learned everything he needed to know about life, and has been trying to remember it ever since. He has been producing theater for nearly a half-life. His work has been seen at a variety of venues in town, and he has a particular fondness for working at MaryArrchie, A Red Orchid, and Lookingglass theaters. He has toured domestically and internationally with Hubbard Street Dance and the gypsy/punk/marching band Mucca Pazza. He has taught theatrical design with a variety of educational outreach programs and summer camps, most recently as the Stagecraft and Design teacher at The Chicago High School for the Arts for the 2010-’ 11 school year. He is a co-recipient of an After Dark Award, and a Jeff Award Nominee. Katherine Greenleaf (Props Designer) Katherine is a properties designer who has worked with Mary Arrchie, Lifeline,


B I O S ( c o n t .) About Face, Chicago Dramatists, Urban Theater Company, Steep, The Plagiarists, Theatre Mir, and others. She is a graduate of The University of Chicago. Thanks to the folks at Evanston/Skokie School District 65 for their years of support. Robert Groth (Scenic Co-Designer) is exited to be working with Matt Miller again and for the first time with Mary Archie. Past designs with Jenniffer Thusing include Aiming for Sainthood for Chicago Dramatists at the Pritzker Pavilion and The Weir with Seanachai Theatre company. Robert is also co-owner of Crosstown Scenic LLC. Current projects for Crosstown Scenic include Gypsy at Drury Lane Oakbrook, The Houdini Box for Chicago Children’s Theatre and Snow White for Emerald City Theatre Company. Allie Kunkler (Hair and Makeup Designer) Allie Kunkler is excited to be designing makeup for this amazing production! Allie is represented by Ford Artists in Chicago for makeup. Allie is also an actor and has worked with WildClaw Theatre, Nothing Special Productions and The Chicago Mammals. Matt Miller (Director) Originally from Kent, OH, Matt is a Chicago based director, teacher, and dedicated Indians fan. He’ s very happy to be working with Rich and the Mary-Arrchie crew for the first time. As a stage director, Matt’ s recent credits include the critically acclaimed and Jeff nominated revival of THE WEIR for Seanachai Theatre Company, the world premiere of A GIRL WITH SUN IN HER EYES for Pine Box Theater, OBLIVION and 4000 MILES (staged reading with Deanna Dunagan) for Steppenwolf’ s First Look Repertory, and the world premiere of GRACELAND for Profiles Theatre (Top 10 Plays of the Year 2009, Chicago Tribune & Sun Times). Jim Stevens (Assistant Director) is an artisan, story-teller, videographer and filmmaker. Most recent theater experience includes production of video presented at SketchFest and FringeNYC. He is extremely honored to be a part of this production, working with Matt and the entire cast and crew. Jim loves a fresh glazed donut.

Jenniffer Thusing (Scenic Co-Designer) is thrilled to be working for the first time with Mary Arrchie and with Matt Miller for the second time. Her set design work with Robert has been seen previously at the Pritzger Pavilion for Chicago Dramatists production of Aiming for Sainthood, The Weir and That Was Then for Seanachia. Their work was recently recognized with a Jeff nomination for best mid-sized scenic design for their work on Senachai’s The Weir. Jenniffer is also an Equity Stage Manager and a Props Designer. Her work as a Stage Manager can be seen at Chicago Dramatists, where she is an artistic associate. In addition, she works a teaching artist through the Beverly Arts Center Outreach Program. Stefin Steberl (Costume Designer) recent Chicago credits include The Den Theater’ s production of Summer and Smoke. Mr Steberl was previously the resident designer for Columbia College’s

David Wooley (Fight Choreographer) is a veteran of Chicago theatre; both as a performer and a fight director. His is one of ten Fight Masters with the Society of American Fight Directors and an Artist in Residence at Columbia College of Chicago. A graduate of the Goodman School of Drama/DePaul University, he has directed, acted or choreographed for over 150 theatrical productions - from Shakespeare to Children’s Theatre. He was the recipient of a Joseph Jefferson Award for Excellence in Stage Combat Choreography (1988) and was awarded an Ollie (OIT-Loop Theatre) Award for Best Fight Direction (1991).
