M E S S AG E F R O M T H E P R E S I D E N T Greetings! Welcome to The Milwaukee Theatre, and to Shrek The Musical, the signature presentation in our 2011-12 season of great Broadway shows. After four blockbuster features, eight short films and two spin-off movies, Shrek hardly needs introduction, but you will be amazed at how seamlessly and effectively the characters and story move to the stage from their digital origins on-screen. Winner of the 2009 Tony® for Costume Design and nominated for seven other Tony Awards, Shrek The Musical is the kind of show that reminds adults and educates new generations about the unparalleled magic of a live theatrical performance. It also happens to be hilarious, and we promise you will be thoroughly entertained! We are presenting Shrek as part of our commitment to bringing family-oriented and family-friendly entertainment to the people of southeastern Wisconsin. It has not escaped our notice that families are, by and large, our most loyal audience members, returning again and again for all kinds of entertainment from televisionbased children’s shows to family-friendly concerts, Broadway productions and onstage spectaculars. Naturally we are always looking to broaden our audience, but aim to continue serving families, and thank you for your support. The final show in our 2011-12 season will be 2008 Tony Award® “Best Musical” In The Heights, a heartwarming tale of family, community, chasing dreams and finding one’s true self, with three performances, May 4 & 5. In The Heights also won Tonys for its music, lyrics and choreography; dance fans – including followers of the many dance competitions on TV – will be especially impressed, and it is a terrific show all around. We are also looking forward to hosting comedian Daniel Tosh for two shows on April 20, and musical icon Barry Manilow on August 4, both in the Milwaukee Theatre. Old-school hip-hop pioneers New Edition are coming to the U.S. Cellular Arena on June 8, and the Brewcity Bruisers roller derby league is back at the Arena for Semifinal competition on April 14, Championships on May 5, and to host the 2012 Midwest Brewhaha Regional Tournament, June 2-3. Thank you for joining us for this show! We hope you will have a wonderful experience, and invite you to tell your family and friends about our shows and the Milwaukee Theatre; we hope you will return for many more events in the future! Sincerely,

Richard A. Geyer, President & CEO Wisconsin Center District The Milwaukee Theatre Historic Elegance, World Class Performances
