F R O M T H E OAC D I R E C TO R ... Welcome back patrons! We are celebrating the 2013-14 season with some familiar favorites along with some new touches that we hope you will find engaging and tasty. (Yes, I did say tasty). Our popular main stage, cabaret, comedy, visual arts and film series will all be back with a diverse and exciting repertoire. John McGivern in Home for the Holidays will headline the new season on December 8, but the entire list of artists are some of the most unique and talented we’ve offered. The Chamber Theater series is new this season with two powerful theatrical productions, both on the intimate Little Theater stage. This month, we will feature veteran actor, Stephen Parr, as he recreates the persona of the great Charles Dickens in Dr. Marigolds’s Prescription, a lesser known, but by no means less powerful story, by the late author. In a tour-de-force presentation, Mr. Parr, as Mr. Dickens, plays all the characters in this moving and heart-warming story. In February, UPROOTED Theater Company of Milwaukee, Wisconsin’s only African American professional theater troupe, will present Truth by Eric Coble. This one-woman show features actress Marti Gobel as Sojourner Truth, a slave woman and activist during the Civil War. Where does tasty come in? In response to our patrons, we have partnered with two local businesses, Great Harvest Bread Company in Delafield, Colectivo Coffee of Milwaukee, and Mrs. Wonn-derful’s Cake Ball Company of Oconomowoc to upgrade and improve our pre-show and intermission concession offerings. OAC events will feature desserts and snacks that will be unique to our patrons. We will also open our concessions 45 minutes prior to show time and during intermissions. In addition, we will offer two locations to serve you. One at our concession stand in the south lobby and a table next to our box office. We will also serve up drinks including coffee, soda, juice and water. Check it out and let us know what you think! Thank you for your continued support of the Oconomowoc Arts Center.
