Forankra ABT improves its customer’s cargo lashing operations through customized solutions In 2011 Forankra ABT had an inquiry from Scania, one of the world’s leading truck manufacturer, asking for on-time delivery of cargo lashing. Forankra ABT is proud to tell that through its expertise and customer focus the company could add more value to Scania’s operations than “just” on-time deliveries. Scania sends parts and components by container to their assemblies around the world. At the assemblies the parts and components are put together into trucks and buses. The sent goods has to be firmly secured inside the containers. In order for Forankra ABT to provide Scania with an appropriate solution ABT sent one of its salesmen to learn and get insights into Scania’s cargo securing needs. The salesman could conclude that Scania’s way of working with cargo securing was time consuming, non ergonomically and also resulted in inefficient material use. Therefore, Forankra ABT designed a customized solution for Scania, which was offering preconditions for a more rationale cargo handling. The solution included tailored lashings with hooks, in lengths and colors adjusted for Scania’s operations. In the end Scania had on-time deliveries and in addition equipment better suited for their operations. And Forankra ABT won a new customer and got the opportunity to share some of its expertise!
