OUR STORY BERG Outdoor was born in 2002. We’re from Portugal, home to the great explorers that 500 years ago discovered half the world.

THE ADVENTUROUS SPIRIT REMAINS DEEPLY ROOTED IN OUR HERITAGE AND IN THE WAY WE CONSIDER THE WORLD OUR HOME. Like our ancestors, we’ve been expanding horizons, introducing more specific categories of products through the years. We had our first International Trade Show in 2012 and one year later we won 3 Innovation Awards at ISPO. In 2015 we renewed our brand image and logo and in 2016 we decided it was the right time to launch BERG online in Europe. The word BERG means “mountain” in German, representing the explorer inside each and every one of us.

WHY WOOL? Natural and renewable – wool is grown not made; every year sheep grow a new fleece. Wool products also use less energy than man-made fibers during manufacture. OEKO - TEX STANDARD 100-FABRICS The STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® is a worldwide consistent, independent testing and certification system for raw, semi-finished, or finished textile products at all processing levels, as well as accessory materials used. In our case our fabrics are OEKO-TEX approved.

OEKO - TEX STANDARD 100-FABRICS Merino wool is a natural fibre with high resistance and elasticity, that prevents the garments losing their shape, is an active fibre that reacts to changes in body temperature, it helps you stay warm when the weather is cold, and cool when the weather is hot. C6 WR C6 are fluoropolymers generally contain < 5 ppb (parts per billion) PFOA (Perfluorooctanoic acid and Perfluorooctane Sulphonate) and are considered to be non-bio accumulative as they can dissipate from the bloodstream within 3 – 6 hours. The fluorinated water repellents may contain long-chain perfluorinated compounds that are persistent, bioaccumulative and potentially toxic. Long-chain perfluorinated compounds such as PFOS and PFOA are prohibited by some regulations because of their proven risk, the C6 WR are fluoropolymers that have a low concentration of PFOA.
